" [ 16:33] just shareing Hi all, ok, so I just started with this A M Med Direct, and they send me the wrong machine;I use the prodigy voice, and I was sent the prodigy code... ok, so they are going to change it for me, that's great! now my question is, they were needing a " visual aqute number " in order for my insurance to cover this new and upgrade Prodigy Voice... I told them there is no number for me, since I have no vision whatsoever and so I went round and round with them about this, and even my doctor said how can I give a number if there is nothing there? so now we sit and wait if the insurance approves.. this is crazy. has anyone ever gone through something similiar?, for those of you who are totally blind? just shareing thanks oh and I was told that the code strips and the voice strips do work, but from what Ruth says they dont. so now another round of do they or don't they;however I do believe Ruth, as she is more knowledgable then these folks at AM med direct, so it seems;but we will wait and see. thanks for hearing me out sugar 'Real tears are not those that fall from your eyes and cover your face, but that fall from your heart and cover your soul.' ~Be Blessed, Sugar

Guest guest
Hi Dave no I was and am not having any problems with my machine, I love it! but everyone was saying that after 2 years I should get a newer one, so this A M Med direct called and said that I qualified for a new and updated version, because according to some, mine was " old " it's 3 years old. I was am not complaining, but I thought, hey, if I qualify, what the heck? anyways, thus my issues and whoas started. but all is ok, I did get the diabetic cookbooks, some nutrition help and a little fancy foot care packet, and then I found out that medicare and medi-cal won't approve a new machine just yet, but they will after 5 years, so I got another 2 years to go. so in the mean time, all is ok, and I am thinking of going back to Advance Diabetes supplies, it doesn't cost me anything either way. I jus never had these issues with Advance. we wil wil wait and see. Guest guest
I told them to say I had to test twice a day even though my doctor just wanted once. But with my first box of 50 then they will send 100 and then ship around every 60 days I guess. I really forget. Guest guest
Don't think of requesting the proper number of strips as greed. You are blind, and you will make mistakes. I've been checking my bg's 8, 9, even 10 times a day for years, and I still mess up a strip every few days. Or, I re-check because I'm not satisfied that I got a correct reading. So, don't be unnecessarily and unfairly frugal. And keep this in mind: If you keep yourself healthy, in the end, your medical costs will be less. Dave " ...In this world you will have trouble. Guest guest
Thanks Dave. I just don't think I feel like poking myself ten times a day. I guess when you have been doing it as long as you have it is old hat. It has only been a month on the 13th I even found ou any of this was going on. I could have been doing this for years. I would stand by the refrigerator or in my room and glug down several big sips of a op bottle or the white or chocolate milk or orange juice, whatever. I do notice since all this happened that has gone way down. I no longer feel that awful feeling of being so thirsty that nothing will satisfy me. I am not sure if that is good or not but yes I still sip on pop but it was 4 or 5 bottles in a month, not in less than a week. just shareing > > > > > > Hi all, > > > ok, so I just started with this A M Med Direct, and they send me the > > > wrong > > > machine;I use the prodigy voice, and I was sent the prodigy code... > > > ok, so they are going to change it for me, that's great! > > > now my question is, they were needing a " visual aqute number " in > order > > > for > > > my insurance to cover this new and upgrade Prodigy Voice... > > > I told them there is no number for me, since I have no vision > > whatsoever > > > and so I went round and round with them about this, and even my > doctor > > > said > > > how can I give a number if there is nothing there? > > > so now we sit and wait if the insurance approves.. > > > this is crazy. > > > has anyone ever gone through something similiar?, for those of you > who > > > are > > > totally blind? > > > just shareing > > > thanks > > > oh and I was told that the code strips and the voice strips do work, > > but > > > from what Ruth says they dont. > > > so now another round of do they or don't they;however I do believe > > Ruth, > > > as > > > she is more knowledgable then these folks at AM med direct, so it > > > seems;but > > > we will wait and see. > > > thanks for hearing me out > > > sugar > > > 'Real tears are not those that fall from your eyes and cover your > face, > > > but that fall from your heart and cover your soul.' > > > ~Be Blessed, Sugar > > > > > >

Guest guest
Lori, you were drinking a lot before because this is a symptom of diabetes. this is common. but now that you know you are diabetic this is corrected by medication and doing your readings to make sure you are taking the proper quantity of medication. it all goes hand in hand. like driving a car, you need to check that you have enough gas to make it go, check the tires to make sure they have enough air in them and no nails, check the oil to make sure you have enough to do its job. you get the idea. you check your feet to make sure there are no cuts that have to be tended to. you make sure you shower and dry between the toes. all kinds of good stuff. Dave is telling you checking your sugar is a smart thing to do for proper care. if you don't know what your sugars are you cant know what is the proper requirement of medication you need to take to avoid complications. complications are amputations. this is a very real threat to a diabetic. prevention is key. just shareing > > > > > > Hi all, > > > ok, so I just started with this A M Med Direct, and they send me the > > > wrong > > > machine;I use the prodigy voice, and I was sent the prodigy code... > > > ok, so they are going to change it for me, that's great! > > > now my question is, they were needing a " visual aqute number " in > order > > > for > > > my insurance to cover this new and upgrade Prodigy Voice...

Guest guest
for me both strips work for the prodigy voice there codeless though . just shareing Hi all, ok, so I just started with this A M Med Direct, and they send me the wrong machine;I use the prodigy voice, and I was sent the prodigy code... ok, so they are going to change it for me, that's great! now my question is, they were needing a " visual aqute number " in order for my insurance to cover this new and upgrade Prodigy Voice...

Guest guest
Gosh I have not had Ramen noodles in a long time. I love those darned things. We had them a lot when I was first married. I really do not put extra salt on things these days but I know things come with it. just shareing > > > > Hi all, > > ok, so I just started with this A M Med Direct, and they send me the > > wrong > > machine;I use the prodigy voice, and I was sent the prodigy code... > > ok, so they are going to change it for me, that's great! > > now my question is, they were needing a " visual aqute number " in order > > for > > my insurance to cover this new and upgrade Prodigy Voice... > > I told them there is no number for me, since I have no vision > whatsoever > > and so I went round and round with them about this, and even my doctor > > said > > how can I give a number if there is nothing there? > > so now we sit and wait if the insurance approves.. > > this is crazy. > > has anyone ever gone through something similiar?, for those of you who > > are > > totally blind? > > just shareing > > thanks > > oh and I was told that the code strips and the voice strips do work, > but > > from what Ruth says they dont. > > so now another round of do they or don't they;however I do believe > Ruth, > > as > > she is more knowledgable then these folks at AM med direct, so it > > seems;but > > we will wait and see. > > thanks for hearing me out > > sugar > > 'Real tears are not those that fall from your eyes and cover your face, > > but that fall from your heart and cover your soul.' > > ~Be Blessed, Sugar > > > >
