Guest guest
I agree, the " guidelines " are not at all what they should be. It's also crazy that a meter would not have accompanying diabetes management software. Even cheap Walmart meters have this capability ... Can you check their website to see if there's something you can download? Guest guest
at the time I raised the issue that with many diabetics experiencing visual difficulties whether or not a result of the diabetes I advised that them that it was unrealistic to expect hand written documents to be submitted and that if they expected compliance they needed to develop an on line mechanism for collecting this data. I guess this is a prime example as to the lack of sensitivity to the needs of many diabetics. Chuck Printing a log from the Prodigy Voice Advanced Diabetic Supplies is requesting a log for their records since my daily strip need is above the guidelines for insulin dependent diabetics (3 per day!). So, how can I do this, assuming I can, with my sighted wife's assistance of course? Thanks. Guest guest
I basically told my supplier that I wasn't going to send them a hand written log. They know I am blind, and I of course repeated this to the customer service person. I really wonder sometimes about people. She still wanted me to fill out a log. But this is one of the things we're trying to get squared away with DDI (manufacture's of the Prodigy Voice). They need to get their log software out to us in an accessible form. We're all baffled why it is so difficult, and I can only conclude that we simply do not constitute enough earning potential for them to pay much attention to us. I will eventually need to send my supplier a log since Medicare requires them to be able to justify strip quantities that exceed the recommended daily usage (3 strips per day for a type 1). If Prodigy can't get this software out to us, I'm very likely going with the other meter called the Solo V2. Dave " ...In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. Guest guest
I really think we should do something to voice our opinion to meter manufacturers. being totally blind a meter that can not print a log is out of the question, out the door, not even a consideration. it is like having a car with no tires. one without the other is a very strong no go. the manufacturer pushing out their product without all the working parts is criminal. prodigy are a huge disappointment. I fell into that trap. believed it was a good meter, made the purchase, then later disappointed. with no source to purchase the strips in Canada and no method to print a log. now I am out of pocket and had to purchase another meter . an expensive lesson to learn and I don't want anyone else to fall into that trap. be sure to ask all the right questions before you make the purchase. don't end up with a looser with a hole in the bank account like I did. and make sure you ask does your voice meter have a print out. my doctors office will print with some meters but not a voice meter. so buyer beware. from Canada Printing a log from the Prodigy Voice Advanced Diabetic Supplies is requesting a log for their records since my daily strip need is above the guidelines for insulin dependent diabetics (3 per day!).
