Guest guest
Hi , Welcome to the list; it will be good to have you with us. I used count-a-dose for many years, but then put it aside and switched to pens. As a type 1 diabetic I take several shots each day, and to me the pens are worth the cost. Once you actually get the count-a-dose in your hand you will find that it is not difficult at all to use. If you have never used syringes before then you may find that they are more cumbersome to use and that the needles may not be quite as thin as the pen needles. When I was using count-a-dose I had to be careful that my insurance company or my mail order pharmacy didn't slip me any generic syringes. The count-a-dose only worked with genuine B D syringes. Mark Introduction and a Question Hi, My name is Sandy. I was born blind, and I have been a type II diabetic for about 7 years. I have been using Novolin insulin pens, but as I am sure many of you know, they are not being made anymore. I had quite a stock pile of them. I am finally running out, and I must now learn to use the count-a-dose. I have only read the description and instructions. I am getting a lesson and to actually see it on Thursday. It sounds complicated. Is anyone using it? Does anyone have advice or opinions? The brand name pens just are so expensive. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you. I'm apprehensive about making this change. Sandy
