Guest guest
Hi, Jody: I am new to this group as well. I have only read Women, Food and God by Geneen Roth. I found that Intuitive Eating by Tribole & Elyse Resch had a lot more practical and specific information about going about changing all of those old habits. I can certainly relate in the stress department. The very best thing I know is exercise. It seems that the anxiety pours out of me right along with the sweat. And I am by no means an athletic person or even a lifelong exerciser. I started as a new habit just about a year ago--and I am in my 50's! Turn up the music (I use headphones) and get moving with an exercise bike. You can pick one up very reasonably and for a song if you check the want ads. Eventually, I joined a fitness club and I can't believe how much it has improved that part of my life. I lift weights (with a group/trainer) at least once a week, use an exercise bike, the pool, and then indulge in the jacquzzi and saunas. Wonderful stuff. There's just no downside. Good luck!
