Guest guest
It seems like common knowledge but I didn't know--rice milk feeds yeast? We just switched to rice milk from homemade coconut milk b/c of huge Igg issues with coconut for my son. But I don't have the yeast under control and I don't want to make it worse yeah sounds like an infraction and you are rounding the end of it you can always rotate, my daughter had only 5 foods she tollerated for a while and we had to do it From: Seraphine Sent: Tuesday, January 11, 2011 2:04 PM To: mb12 valtrex Subject: Re: Re: What's Going On? Thanks so much for your input! His classroom aide had a sub on Thursday and Friday. I wonder if he took someone else's snack, and the sub didn't think it was a big deal. I don't rotate, since he is so limited with he eats - it would be impossible, I think! The only new supplement we began was Trienza, replacing Zyme Prime and AFP Peptizide. I'm wondering if this all started with an infraction, and I made it worse by increasing his enhansa and switching to almond milk. He's doing better today (so far). Not self-injurious at all, but still trying to pinch and bite others (and me!) a lot. it can be anything! do you rotate? that may help you find the problem but you are right in my house that would mean an opiate got in, gluten, soy or milk.....did you start any new suppliments? From: laurargoddin Sent: Monday, January 10, 2011 9:25 PM To: mb12 valtrex Subject: Re: What's Going On? I thought the same - 'infraction' -- however, that being said, it sound like an allergy. This is exactly how my son was before we removed milk. New allergy? Corn makes Rob itch like crazy. It made him nuts. Scratching relentlessly..my daughter too. She got rashes (bad ones, I mean, REALLY BAD ones.) That being said, as a sort of - test - to see if the antidote to 'corn' allergy really is: EFA's, Magnesium and Potassium, Histidine, black walnut, kelp and bee pollen. I added Bee Pollen and more EFA's to Maddie's diet, this took care of the bad rashes. (This is according to my book, The ultimate healing system by LePore, ND.)According to this book - the rice allergy antidote is: Pyrdoxine (B6), B12, Manganese, Arginine, Proline, Yucca and Beet Powder. Is there something he likes to eat a lot of (or eats a lot of?)You might want to add more B-Vitamins anyway (because they are anti-stress, and it sounds like he is completely stressed) -- and I would also add L-Theanine. It works really well for me (when I am stressed out.) They also make it in a gum...thought I would throw that out there... some suggestions. Oh, and if it's ammonia, I believe Chlorophyll can render it neutral, and L-Arginine (and ornithine) assist the body in neutralizing it as well. and now that I am thinking about it...it sound like, he's got PST deficiency. ...let me go look, and I will post it..laura >> I really need some help, here. Guest guest
If you are only treating the yeast, it is quite possible that you have created a bacteria problem. These symptoms sound very much like gut bacteria. If you haven't changed anything in his diet, I would rule out the possibility of bacteria before eliminating more food. Guest guest
Hi,Well, he's been on Enhansa for about 10 months - I believe that kills off bacteria, as well as yeast, right? Could bacteria still be a problem? How would I determine if this is the problem, and what else can we do about it?Thanks so much for your input. :-) If you are only treating the yeast, it is quite possible that you have created a bacteria problem. Guest guest
Hi , did you use the brand Arthur Medical Syntol? Soraya, I used Syntol and Candex (I progressed up to 12 caps a day for syntol and 6 caps a day for candex) for yeast issues. IT WORKS!! I have a friend (not on this forum) who is doing Feingold for her son and daughter (she has twins lives in MA) anyway, I gave her that to try (Syntol and Candex) -- and she reports that her kids are HAPPY. No whining, crying, etc. And they were having separation anxiety (really bad, that when she went to the bathroom they would cry hysterically until she came out)-- and she said that has disappeared overnight. She has been on the regiment (still upping) for three days. I know that people have a hard time ridding themselves of yeast, but if you put nutrition on the back burner...IMHO I think you are just setting yourself up for a vicious cycle. That being said, I kept my kids and brother on it for atleast 30 days. Then I switched to another probiotic. (I used Culturelle at night) Just a suggestion. > > > > I really need some help, here. Guest guest
Love the oxalate horn -- Toni! No need to duck and cover! :0 BTW - I did give the calcium (imagine that, had the kind you suggested!) to Jimmy before his drink at 6am this morning..and no redness on face...drank beet juice again - he asked for it. Singing Frosty the Snowman -- I am not sure where 'and the fire and the hole' comes in (I think think he supposed to be singing 'and two eyes made out of coal?' -- who knows just love to hear the voice!!) I drank a hot cocoa last night (it was cold and it sounded yummy) and SAM was up every 2 hours nursing. I'm exhausted! OXALATE HELL! Serves me right for not listening! Thought I could be sneaky...Sam knows though... I am back on the wagon...really, I need sleep! laura > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I really need some help, here. Guest guest
Toni, so magnesium, calcium and zinc are good for oxylate issues as it will "deter" the oxylates from settling into cells?? It might be interesting to consider whether or not these kids could use larger doses of these minerals so there's plenty to go 'round for the oxalate issues plus all the functions that also require them?? Which also makes me wonder if that's why some kids flip out on calcium? ... if it's "sucking up the oxalates", it could be a reaction. Does that make sense? -Tammy To: mb12 valtrex Sent: Wed, January 12, 2011 9:41:53 AMSubject: Re: Re: What's Going On? and I communicate off list. So will have to email me and beat me up for tooting my Low Oxalate horn again. :-DBUT part of the reason the kids need extra nutrition (ie minerals) is these minerals are bound to oxalate and carried away.Since oxalate is so content to either be absorbed into our cells OR be bound bound to magnesium, calcium, and zinc, our leaky gut kids will continue to require supplements for these minerals until the leaky gut is healed or the diet is adjusted. And don't think I am perfect here because 1-I ate some damned wheat yesterday wreaking havoc on my gut and 2-I do not supplement my own zinc and good grief, I should be!!! Ay yi yi! AND 3-I stay up till all hours just like my ASD child would without melatonin, and I refuse to take it myself. Gaaah. :-) For her, it did. OR by clearing up her yeast issues, she was able to get better nutrients -- I think sometimes it's a question of the chicken and the egg. (I am not sure which came first...)But once she was on the Syntol/Candex -- it was the difference of night and day -- for speech. At the time, I knew she knew her alphabet (18 months) and she could point correctly and say the letters (numbers and colors) when asked. (We thought she was a genius!) So when she started to have issues around 2 and her speech declined rapidly, and she started signing again, we knew something was up. I had tried the protocol (that I used on my son) and she was SO miserable, and she didn't like the taste and getting her to take it was hell. Her rashes were out of control (behind her knees, in her armpits, in the creases of her wrist, and in the creases of her neck even) -- and this protocol (which is really easy and easy to take/hide) reeled her in. Her speech came back, and although I was still tacking other things, it became very clear that she was nutritionally deficient in a lot of areas. (WHY!!!) That took some time to figure out, but Jimmy's bioavailable vitamin worked wonders again...I cannot FIGURE OUT why my kids seem to need SO much nutrition or why they seem to burn it up so quickly...I mean, I don't feed my kids crap and they eat really well...they take vitamins, etc. And yet, if I divert from the diet/vitamins/etc. They become train wrecks quickly. ugh...I keep reading trying to find that elusive 'thing' that is going to make me understand all of us, and yet, the more I read, the more questions I have. The more I read, the same things seem to pop up over and over again...and it seems so simple, yet so difficult to attain. ..and I'm not afraid to take things out, put things in, try new stuff, etc. -- and it's a LOT of work...that being said, I haven't seen a rash, she has been wonderful and in a good mood for a period of time now, I am getting used to it...and then I think -- 'when's the other shoe going to drop?'I know I am preaching to the choir, but GEEZ -- can I get a break here? > > > > > >> > > > > > I really need some help, here. Guest guest
Oh I have new info on the " kids flip out on calcium " front.I had a phone consult with Dr. Woeller last week. He says that in some kids, if the setting is right, the calcium can cause an inflammatory response. NOT GOOD FOR OUR KIDS! :-( He did not go into details, I sense it was a lot of biochemical reaction stuff that he didn't want to explain in our short 15 min consult. It would be worth looking up for those who want to read up on it. (I fear it would make me more freakish, and right now my son is doing well on his calcium supp FINALLY) But in relation to oxalate, before meals, one should take calcium or magnesium (citrate seems to be the best form but some people cannot tolerate this form) to be there to bind with the oxalate.Perhaps the reason my son can finally handle calcium is he has dumped enough oxalate, I have no idea. But he now takes 2000 mg in the am right before his Respen-A and sometimes even more thru the day for meals. Toni, so magnesium, calcium and zinc are good for oxylate issues as it will " deter " the oxylates from settling into cells?? It might be interesting to consider whether or not these kids could use larger doses of these minerals so there's plenty to go 'round for the oxalate issues plus all the functions that also require them?? Which also makes me wonder if that's why some kids flip out on calcium? ... if it's " sucking up the oxalates " , it could be a reaction. Does that make sense? -Tammy To: mb12 valtrex Sent: Wed, January 12, 2011 9:41:53 AMSubject: Re: Re: What's Going On? and I communicate off list. So will have to email me and beat me up for tooting my Low Oxalate horn again. :-DBUT part of the reason the kids need extra nutrition (ie minerals) is these minerals are bound to oxalate and carried away. Since oxalate is so content to either be absorbed into our cells OR be bound bound to magnesium, calcium, and zinc, our leaky gut kids will continue to require supplements for these minerals until the leaky gut is healed or the diet is adjusted. (WHY!!!) That took some time to figure out, but Jimmy's bioavailable vitamin worked wonders again... I cannot FIGURE OUT why my kids seem to need SO much nutrition or why they seem to burn it up so quickly...I mean, I don't feed my kids crap and they eat really well...they take vitamins, etc. -- and it's a LOT of work... that being said, I haven't seen a rash, she has been wonderful and in a good mood for a period of time now, I am getting used to it...and then I think -- 'when's the other shoe going to drop?'I know I am preaching to the choir, but GEEZ -- can I get a break here? > > > > > >> > > > > > I really need some help, here. Guest guest
OMG! My son has been so spacey since I started Calcium again. I ditched it b/c it made him so constipated. But restarted it b/c Dan recommended it. Anyway, I assumed it was b/c he had time off from xmas break that was causing these terrible transitions. He is using the interfase biofilm stuff from Klaires, and we are on candex and enhansa and ole, oregon grape, pau d'arco etc. Anyway, thought it could be the Calcium but just wasn't sure, now I am sure. What calcium supp has worked for your sensitive kids? Thanks! Judy > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I really need some help, here. Guest guest
When I asked about calcium with my son years ago, Dr Goldberg said not to worry about taking it, especially with boys. My son is now 22 recovered and never had a problem as a result of not having dairy.Best,Marcia
Guest guest
Marcia,We are addressing some anti-social behavior that may be linked to low activity MAO-A allele that my son carries. We are using Respen-A and it requires extra calcium. :-) Plus, we are doing LOD; when dumping oxalates, they bind up the minerals in your body (sort of a natural kind of chelation) and so you can get low in several minerals because of this (calcium, magnesium, zinc) When I asked about calcium with my son years ago, Dr Goldberg said not to worry about taking it, especially with boys. My son is now 22 recovered and never had a problem as a result of not having dairy. Best,Marcia -- Toni------Mind like a steel trap...Rusty and illegal in 37 states.
