Oh, I'm glad there has been little progression. Is this a new doc? He's on your wavelength which is a good thing.

Sher,

I'm very happy to hear there's been only minimal progression. That's excellent news!

The sob with normal sats is something we've talked about before and your doctor told you exactly what I've been told many times. Because our lungs are scarred and stiff, it's difficult for us to get air in to them. Our brains interpret this difficulty as shortness of breath even though our sats are normal. It stinks but it is what it is.

Happy your reasonably stable!

Call from Sher's pulmonologist

Dr called today w/results on the testing I had a couple of weeks ago.

There has been some progression but nothing gigantic. That's about it in a nutshell.

We did discuss the change in my IPF dx to NSIP (by another Dr.) and this one says he does not agree. I definitely have a form of PF but he is not sure "what form". He says I have an "atypical" form because of the pattern of progression (or lack of).

But what the hell, it's all PF when the chips are called in, so I'm just not going to focus on it. The way it is is the way it is.

I am very grateful there has been little progression and I did talk with him about being so sob and yet my sats are normal. He says I'm sob because I have a lung disease and my lungs are stiff and will get stiffer. So when I'm sob, sit and rest until I'm better, or if O2 helps, use it. Regardless of what the sats "read".

Now this is a logical answer and one I can understand.

Peggy... I know, "this dropping business stinks" is for sure! I'm so sorry you are experiencing a drop. Are you breathing any easier? You were having trouble on the higher flow...

... you have probably read in other posts that my current pulmonologist is the very first one I started with. I did the circuit and ended right back with him.

He is a good Dr and looking back I should have stayed put. I was not rational for a few months after my dx. It's a real emotional twister to find out online that PF

is fatal . At any rate, I'll stay put now.

Hope you're doing well.
