Greetings,

Thanks, I've taken another reading, wished I hadn't as it had gone up from

10.5 to 11.0. I took one at 7:45 showing 5.2 then had breakfast of porridge

with blueburies and a mug of tea, full milk no sugar.

One of these days I may even get onto Facebook,

twitter or skype, so you can't escape from me forever!!

Greetings,

I cannot stand skimmed milk I will not change, I am prepared to live with

the consequences as I do not have other fat to excess. My colesteral level

is 3.1 to 3.5, max it has been is 3.7 since I've been on Simvostatin, one

tablet a day in the evening with supper.

I will take a measure around 12:45-ish before lunch and it will probably be

6 at most and could even be much lower.

Greetings,

reading taken at 12:35 was 5.1, so happy this is lower than my expected 6.

For lunch, I am having a coOp cottage pie, 400g, a Commise pear and a mug of

tea, will take another reading around 15:00, expect this to be 12-ish,

another at 18:45, expect to be between 6 and 7, then supper of cheese and

chutney sandwich.

I am doing a series of readings over a few unrelated days, to establish a

trend. I've been undertaking this since just before New Year and somewhere

Easter-ish, will visit my medics with the results.

I was discovered to be type2 September 1999, age-related onset.

Hello Colin, and all,

You're a type 2, and I am a type 1 (insulin dependent). You make a good point,

about learning to incorporate a specific food (i.e. full milk) into your daily

meal plan, a food that might normally be one dieticians would suggest you avoid.

I enjoy a cookie (in the US, that means a sweet!) a couple times a day, and my

readings are consistently very good.

It's a matter of making small compromises, but knowing that a small or tiny

portion of something normally not considered healthy is okay. Excess is the

problem. Moderation is the key.

And for the newly diagnosed, or those who need to lose significant weight,

moderation may not be good enough for a season. But for those who are in either

of these categories, know that some hard work now will eventually give bloom to

a new season where times of moderation may be okay for you.
