Hi, I am currently receiving medicare benefits, and am going to start getting

my Prodigy glucose strips from my local Walmart pharmacy. What will medicare

require from me to receive benefits of them assisting in the monthly payments

of said strips? I know that some on this list have said that medicare required

them to submit glucose logs of testing results, but I am wondering why medicare

does not require the same usage logs or what not in the number of insulin

infusion sets I go through for my insulin pump.

Any help would be appreciated.

As far as insulin, since it is usually dosed on a sliding scale, perhaps that's

why logs aren't required.

IF Wall-Mart is a Medicare approved supplier, then you're in business with your

Prodigy strips. There are plenty of mail order Medicare approved suppliers

should you choose to go that route. Make sure Wall-Mart is willing to write off

the 20% not covered, so your cost for strips is nothing.
