Guest guest
I had not been taking care of my sugar, not taking my insulin at all. I had a wound that came up so I decided to go to the doctor on an outpatient basis to have it looked at. Before I knew what was going on, I was admitted to the hospital and in ICU no less. I was running a fever and I got insulin every hour and IV antibiotics for the infection. I was in the hospital four days. When they told me I had DKA it scared me to death. I'd watched enough programs on it that I knew I could die from it if I didn't change my way of doing things. I've been taking my insulins ever since.
