Guest guest
Unfortunately, the FDA allows all meters to have up to a 20% variance. _____ From: blind-diabetics [mailto:blind-diabetics ] On Behalf Of Sent: Friday, November 04, 2011 8:53 AM To: blind-diabetics Subject: Re: Good meter wanted Sometimes it will out of range, so we do it over and it is fine. Of course the amount of blood makes the difference sometimes. But other times I might do a BS 3 times because I am quite sure the numbers don't make sense. We have 2 meters and we have taken them back to where we got them and they keep saying they are find. Oh, well we will keep trying. Thanks, Good meter wanted We now have 2 Prodigy meters and cannot count on how dependable they are. Sometime I trust the reading and other times I check 2 or 3 times more. Any suggestions will be appreciated. and Joe
Guest guest
One of the main marketing ploys for the Solo V2 is its ability to detect insufficient blood. I will say I encounter this now and then, but I'm so used to pricking my fingers and doing checks I rarely have problems checking. What I'm saying is, the Solo meter will not let you continue if it thinks it doesn't have enough blood. Unlike the Prodigy. Which I do believe probably has a slightly greater tendency to give false readings when there is insufficient blood. Dave " ...In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! Guest guest
I have the Prodigy and many times I do not have a large enough sample and it just says Blood Glucose Level...Low. Sometimes I follow it up with a second reading and it will give a reading higher than 120. When it gives what I think is a real reading it says Your Blood Glucose Level. So if I hear it say Your I know it will follow up with a number.
