Subject: Really? Could a Raw Pear Do That?

Hi everyone,After a year of trying to get my DS to poop everyday, we have achieved nirvana - he's pooping at least once a day. . . sometimes twice or thrice. At the same time we have seen an increase in language (from one word request standard to 3 words and sentences). Also, his chronically stuffy nose has cleared and he seems much happier. My toe-walker has even started to walk flat footed more often. What has me confused is that the only things that we changed was adding raw pear to his diet. He's been eating cooked pear sauce for at least a year. Granted, we were close to getting a poop every day, but couldn't quite get there until we added the pear. We now juice the pear and he drinks a pear 3 times a day. We also take the pureed fiber/pulp and add it to his cooked sauce. So my question is why would giving him raw pear clear his sinuses, get him talking, and make him poop (okay, I know pear has a mild laxative so I guess I get the poop, but the difference in effect between raw and cooked is crazy)? Would getting him pooping and getting toxins out quicker cause this effect? Could the pears have enhanced his immune system? I'm asking because we have a sad history of exciting break throughs which end with us crashing back to normal. I'm trying to sustain these changes and figure out how to move us forward. I recently added kale to his juice with no objections, but I haven't seen further improvements. . . yet. For background, we currently are on Diflucan, Valtrex, DRN Multivitamin, LDN, Liver Life, digestive enzymes, probiotics, prebiotics, maintenance dose for Vitamin A therapy and nothing has made the difference of the unassuming pear. Thanks for any thoughts on this,

I have a theory...I can't prove it, I can only put together the things that I

have read.

Pears (Barlett) and Kale both are 'good' sources of iodine. (I got this from my

book The Ultimate Healing System) If you had read the post from Cheryl about

Iodine and it's necessity (it was a relatively recent post, and it was quite

long with lots of good info) - and mine about juicing and the immediate uptake

of nutrients...you might have found an 'ah HA!' from your unassuming pear (and

kale).

My stance has been that we/our kids are in a constant state of nutrient

deficiency/depravity -- when you get the right combo, enough resources, the body

can then 'function.' -- because it has all the necessary things to do so.

Between the fiber, the vitamin K, the great digestive enzymes, chlorophyll,

calcium, anti-inflammatory properties, detoxing properties, etc, from your pears

and kale...you might have just won a jackpot, that you will get to reap the

benefits of 'interest.' You get to move two steps forward, and STAY two steps

forward, as it was a good solid move in the right direction. Nutrition is

always a good move.

I juiced at the beginning, simply because Stan Kurtz did, and he recovered his

son. I flew blind to many things because I didn't understand the 'why's' of it,

but I just did what he did - I mean, really, why not try? Pears, Pineapple,

Ginger, Kale, Lemon...were all a part of my first juicing. My husband used to

say " well, I guess he's getting good nutrition, nothing wrong with that. " -- I

think we under-estimate how much nutrition we get from eating real,

unadulterated, fresh, food. Nature produces it [vitamins, minerals, enzymes and

amino acids] in the right quantity, and working with other things in

nature...it's symbiotic.

I don't know if this helps, but I enjoyed theorizing about it...

Congrats on your progress...it feels good when you see it going in a positive

direction...it keeps you going.

, bet you're right.

Here's a question: If I make chicken broth, let it cool to room temp, then marinade some fresh, raw veggies in it for a while, do you think the broth could actually suck in the nutrients from the veggies?

Also, I meant to ask, what things do you put in your juicer drink?...the reason

I ask is that -- when you balance your electrolytes and/or get enough sulfer --

it clears sinuses...(Also in my book)...

I am curious now...

I had wanted someone to try a juicer drink to see if it would clear your cold

and/or sinus...
