Guest guest
a, Hi, I too am from UK - London - where are you from? Just briefly, I have just started proceedings - still at the very early stages and we're not sure if we will be suing for the retained placenta or the two agressive D & Cs. My solicitor said it will probably take at least 3 years for the case to end.....My advice would be to talk to solicitor who specialises in medical negligence and they will be able to specifically look at and respond to your individual case - the first consultation should always be given free of charge. I agree there isn't an awful lost of info about AS in the UK - hence my decision to see Dr Gallinat in Germany for a hyst last week - fingers crossed - it seems it all went well. What's your current situation? Please let me know if there's anything else I can help you with. Guest guest
Hi a, Louiza is suing at the moment and I am about to follow in her footsteps so obviously the solicitor believes we have a case. Where are you? Have you now had successful surgery? Love Lesia
Guest guest
Thanks for your e-mail. I too live in London - I'm near Richmond in West London. I have been seeing Professor Sutton in Guildford for the past three years - he diagnosed me when I had a laparoscopy for endometriosis 12 months after the damaging D and C. Could you let me know the name of your solicitor as I have no idea where to begin proceedings. Where did you have the D Re: law suits a,Hi, I too am from UK - London - where are you from?Just briefly, I have just started proceedings - still at the very early stages and we're not sure if we will be suing for the retained placenta or the two agressive D & Cs. Guest guest
Louiza, Thanks for your e-mail. Where did you have the D and C? Was it at the same hospital you had retained products? I was at Kingston for the birth of my only child which is where I ended up with retained products - this was only discovered two weeks after the delivery once I had insisted something was wrong and I had already had an infection by this stage. I then went privately for the D and C and almost had to have a blood transfusion because the blood loss was so severe. I knew nothing about D and Cs and hence didn't consider there to be anything out of the ordinary. I continued seeing the consultant who had performed the D and C until he sent me to Prof.Sutton who has been excellent. The D and C consultant never admitted there could be a problem and told me I was having no periods as I was breast feeding. My lower uterus has now been cleared of scars but the upper part is still badly damaged - this was only discovered yesterday during a hystersalpingogram. Have you found any UK doctors who have offered advice? Have doctors generally told you the condition was just bad luck? Is there a time limit on beginning legal proceedings as I have now had the condition four years? I think I would sue the consultant who did the D and C if I could as I know retained products are extremely common and am not sure I would get very far with this. Sorry my original reply was cut short - my computer did something very strange and decided to send it early!! Very best wishes, a Re: law suits a,Hi, I too am from UK - London - where are you from?Just briefly, I have just started proceedings - still at the very early stages and we're not sure if we will be suing for the retained placenta or the two agressive D & Cs. Guest guest
a, My solicitors details are Irwin 150 Holborn London EC1N 2NS Tel 0 My solicitor is called Nina Leigh - I would suggest you ask for her when you call the switchboard above. I had my baby at Barnet hospital (c-section - hence suing for retained placenta) and the two subsequent D & Cs (9 weeks later - septacaemia etc) also at Barnet. I had my first hyst (privately) in UK with Mr Edmonds last October and as I said went to Dr Gallinat (A list Dr) in Germany last week as all the scar tissue had returned. I believe there is a time period of 3 years - but I think this is from when you discovered you had the problem - not entirely sure though you would have to clarify this. Please note that the HSG you had would only allow the dye to go as far as the next piece of scar tissue. What I'm trying to say is that you could just have one piece going across your uterus that would make it seem as if the whole of the top of your uterus is obscurred by scar tissue. As in my scenario, this might not be the case. When Dr G did my op last week, he actually found that the top of my uterus was completely clear and scar free. Just food for thought........ Good Luck Louiza Re: law suits > > > a, > > Hi, I too am from UK - London - where are you from? > > Just briefly, I have just started proceedings - still at the very early stages and we're not sure if we will be suing for the retained placenta or the two agressive D & Cs. Guest guest
Hi a, Yes I am in North London. I do hope to use the same solicitor so fingers crossed. Are you planning on continuing your treatment in the uk? Lesia
Guest guest
Hello Lesia I am going to continue treatment in U.K. with Prof. Sutton in Guildford. He seems to know what he is doing but I'm waiting for his response to my last HSG to see whether there is anything more he can do for me. I don't think he sees many cases of AS but I think he is one of the best gynaecologists in U.K. Who have you been seeing? Have you been in touch with many UK sufferers? Where are they having treatment and do you know any success stories with regards to pregnancies? Best wishes, a Re: law suits Hi a,Yes I am in North London.I do hope to use the same solicitor so fingers crossed. Are you planning on continuing your treatment in the uk?Lesia
Guest guest
Hi a, I am a fairly new member, but someone correct if I'm wrong seem to have seen a sudden growth in uk members. I like so many of the uk members have given up on the NHS and am (thanks to Corinna) arranging to go to Germany. I believe Dr Galinatt has his share off success stories, but our German diplomat and saviour would no doubt be able to give you more details. If you loose faith.... Love Lesia
