Guest guest
Hi , Thank you for the welcome. I have always been curious about how an insulin pump works and how they have it hooked up. Guest guest
I lost my sight at age 33. I read one time how most people have a re-growth of retina tissue and/or the capillaries in their early 30s. With a diabetic who hasn't had good control, these new capillaries are brittle and burst, causing hemorrhaging and other problems. This is diabetic retinopathy. Guest guest
Diabetic Retinopathy is what caused my blindness. I was working as a nursing assistant. One evening I was writing in a chart and while rubbing my right eye, I looked back down at the chart and with my left eye, I was seeing wavy lines on the chart. After visiting the eye doctor, I was sent to a specialist for laser treatments. An eye surgeon fought for three years to save my sight. -- Currently in Red Oak, Iowa Partly Cloudy, 78°F Wind:SE-140° at 9mph * We are Microsoft. Resistance Is Futile. You Will Be Assimilated. Guest guest
Very similar to my experience. I lost my sight in one eye a year before losing it in the other. I had a total of 5 surgical procedures on my eyes, and I forget how many laser treatments. It took a total of 2 years. This was in the late 80s, when much of this was barely out of the infancy stage I think. Dave " ...In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
