Lemon came back on Tom's IgG and IgE - which sucks because juiced lemonade was an easy and palatable way to add in high doses of vitamin c powder. Figures. I wonder if lime or grapefruit would do the same. I think I'm going to invest in that book for allergies you suggested. I think it'll be interesting to go through all the food he tested high for and see how many share a commonality with anecdotes. From:

With Rob, he too - his serum b12 levels came back normal -- yet, he had EVERY sign of B12 def. I argued with his DAN, and she agreed (unwillingly) to do the nasal (which I think Rob does the best on)...and HOLY COW what a difference. It was night and day. She agreed too -- within a month -- it was like his processing speed went from 0 to 60. It was very obvious.

Now, he just got tested again (she did a serum B12) that came back severely def. - he's been gluten/casien/wheat/dairy free for over a year, he gets shots daily, and still showing def...I am like WTH!

Although. After reading your posts, I might not be giving the shot correctly. My sister (other one, not the one with Crohns) is a nurse, and she has been administering the shot (because he's in FL) and she said that I might have been going overboard. Whoops! :)

So, we are going to revisit it again...but, I think the explanation was - essentially - and in not so many words -- wheat/milk products create this sticky mucus that covers up the villi in the small intestine (where vitamins are taken up) - once you remove this sticky mucus crap, the villi are no longer 'matted' down, and can do their job. The sticky mucus creates this environment where after a period of time, they (the villi) shrivel up and die, (not good)...so getting nutrition is difficult because this avenue has been severely injured.

Since nutrition is how the body functions, and this avenue is impaired, then regardless of how much you eat, or how much 'healthy' things you eat, you might not be maximizing the potential for nutrition.

In the Ann Louise Gittleman book "Fat Flush", she touts drinking a glass of warm water with the juice of a 1/2 of a lemon each morning upon rising. This helps clear out the mucus. I am pretty sure that Cliff Sheats "Lean Bodies" also says the same thing, and I know that Max Gerson was into no dairy or grains or meat -- for that very reason. Mucus. So I keep reading it over and over...so lemon is good for mucus. I always put it in my juicer drinks. Also good for the liver. Can't go wrong with that.

Pau D'Arco rash = high oxalates. Extremely high one, there.

So sorry, I keep meaning to respond to this as I think it would help, and then I get side tracked (my adhd is kicking in, just went and took some mag and b12..)

Okay...

According to 'the book'...(It goes vitamin, then mineral, then amino acid, and then the herbs that are *supposed to help* -- keep in mind that gave her son the Pau' D'Arco, and he got a rash. -- so I would probably try the vitamins and minerals first...I will also try to include a juicing strategy for these.. HA!

grapes, strawberries means a deficiency in: B6 and B12, Manganese, Arginine, Proline.

Fruit/veg for juicing: concord grapes (purple ones), Cantaloupe, cabbage, carrots, endive, watercress, parsley

Cheddar cheese means a deficiency in: Vitamin D, Potassium, Aspartic Acid, Asparagine.

Fruit/veg for juicing: carrots, dandelion leaves (great for the liver, although hi ox) beet tops (hi ox) blueberries, cabbage, endive, parsley, spinach, pineapple, grapes, celery.

For wheat/gluten: EFA's (Linoleic) (*I personally would use borage oil for that one), Magnesium (I use Naturally calm, LOVE IT!) Histidine, Black walnut, kelp, and spirulina.

Juicing strategy: (magnesium)limes, plums, dandelion leaves, apples, grapes, savoy cabbage, pears and peaches.

For Beef/Eggs (whites and yolks) - Biotin, Carnitine, and Sulfur, for amino acids (methionine, cystein, taurine, glutathione, threonine, carnitine) and herbs are: sarsaparilla, eyebright, fenugreek, dandelion, burdock, fennel seeds.

Juicing strategy: (not really one...hmmm)

BUT..dessicated liver is perfect! It comes in pill form!!

It doesn't have anything for: mustard, oregano, asperillus niger, and penicillium natatum...

....so, I would make a juice that contained...

lime, pears, cabbage, dandelion leaves (bitter-good for liver though), grapes (concord)(tart, good for B12), parsley and endive. To make it taste better, I would add, apples (golden del), kale, ginger, and fennel.

I am going to have to try that. I don't have limes, only lemon, and I need concord grapes, but not sure I can find those in organic. ugh.

Has anyone tried EFA's from Avocado? We've tried the borage and flax and Lord the child is a trooper but it's awful going down. And I just don't trust ANY fish oil....it's just one of those things I get a feeling about. I wonder if the avocado would be any better/worse than borage? To: mb12 valtrex Sent: Fri, January 28, 2011 10:29:40
