Guest guest
s post reminded me of the times when I've posted some good news about my situation and was then dismayed and felt guilty to see all the lousy things happening to the other people on the board that I've come to care so much about. But I'll echo what others have said before me, please don't hesitate to post your good news, even when there is lots of bad news on the board. We need the good news. This is a board for sick people, there will always be bad news, we will always have members who are suffering. But I know when I was suffering, especially back when I first joined and I was so devastated by my diagnosis the good news lifted me up and gave me hope for a better day. So please everyone, don't hold back. Post the bad news because that's the reality with which we all have to live but don't hesitate for an instant to post the good news too. It reminds us to hope and pray for better days ahead! Beth Age 48 Fibrotic NSIP 06/06 Change everything. Hopefully there are better days ahead for all. I don't know if Jack has enough hands to hold us all---maybe we better stand in a circle and hold each others. G. UIP/IPF 5/07 AZ. Guest guest
Beth Absolutely post the good news. We need it all, an honest whole picture of life with our disease. I know I gain solace from it all. I see Leanne sometimes bouncing around like a spring chicken and it makes me smile and glad, knowing that other times its not that easy. I'm glad to see you stable and eat lunch with you and we seem like any two people other than the hoses in our noses. Omg, do I gain strength from Jane, seeing her light up at the sound of ice cream, knowing what she's been through or Peggy who struggles but makes it to San for millions of hugs or drives to her daughter's. I saw Gwynne when time was running short and it was painful to see a friend like that but her strength was amazing. To think that she still went to the trouble of meeting me for lunch was the most flattering thing I know. But, also, it gave me a role model for later stages. I have learned so much from Joyce and now from Vicky with her choices. I rejoice to read about the weddings of Geeta's, May's and Tina's kids and feel the joy of the mothers. I think sometimes we think that others will feel bad because they aren't doing as well as we are that day. No, seeing others with stability or good news is uplifting just as if your best friend came over to share joy. In some ways more, because its your disease. I had to think about posting of my travel but realized others enjoy seeing us go in spite of the disease. I loved your and Leanne's trip to Peggy's. And, maybe it inspires one other to go somewhere they might not have. It's like San , I felt for those who couldn't be there. But, then there was the Pacific Northwest group and they did their thing and got such a great experience and now there's the California gathering planned. So, maybe good news just lets the rest of us smile and share. Or maybe it inspires us to create some good news of our own, even if quite different. It's all good. This forum ranges from the joy of children, to death, to the miracle of transplant, to suffering, to the frivolity of a virtual New Year Eve's party where all our problems disappeared to sharing the day we feel so overwhelmed. It's all good. Friends don't hesitate to share it all with other friends. > > From: Godfrey <sngodfrey46@ yahoo.com> > Subject: Re: Good Report from Dr. > To: gita1_vyahoo (DOT) com > Date: Thursday, July 10, 2008, 4:58 AM > > > Hi Geeta, > Thank you for the Congrats, but after I read some of the other posts about > Steve W. wife Vicky, Shers stomach problems, Irene's problem with her hand, Lou's " no go " eye surgery problem, 's 5 days of head aches, I feel I could have found a better day to post, --it always takes the edge off of good news when friends are hurting with their uncontrolable issues.
