Good afternoon everyone!

My name is Emmanuelle. I am new to IE. I've been a member of this group for a

couple of words but was still dieting so I never looked at it really. Intuitive

Eating has been my dream for years but the desire to be thin was always

stronger.

I think I am ready for it though.

I have a 10 month old baby and I don't want to give her the example I got from

my Mum. I went on my first diet when I was 7 and I am 37 today. I want freedom

for myself and I want freedom for my daughter. Dieting, bingeing, food and body

obsessions are my world but I don't want them to be hers.

So here I am, if I want to be a good example to her, I don't have another choice

but follow IE.

Now my main difficulty is my " I feel fat " or its best friend " I am fat "

thoughts. Those are sooooo powerful in my case that they do send me right back

to dieting.

As most of you I assume, I have a long dieting history and I know a LOT about

nutrition.

My questions to you are

1- What books do you recommend that I read? I own a couple of Geneen Roth's

books and another book called IE, a revolutionary program that works.

2- Has it been hard and long for some of you to go from a life of dieting to a

life of normal eating? Did you get discouraged?

3- How do you continue to eat intuitively when obsessions about the perfect body

kick in?

Are you perfectionists as well? (just checking:)

I have millions of questions but I am going t stop here for today.

I have been following IE now for a couple of days but I have to be honest, it is

difficult for me. I find it easy to diet, but that's probably because I've been

told what to eat (and rebelling against it) all my life!
