Guest guest
Dawn, you really do need to do what YOU find most supportive. I can only feedback that for me such guidelines feel too much like EXternal dictates for me to follow. I will add that I do like Reduced Fat Cheezits, fat free salad dressings and some other 'diet' produced items. But these are personal choices for me based upon my tastes, not either a label or should. Best to you, Katcha IEing since March 2007 > > When I go to the store to shop is it okay to look at calories (or fat or sodium)? I mean, to me it just seems the healthy thing to do. I am not saying only by low calorie food. I will always have my peanut butter, ice cream, and nutella...YUMMY! And don't forget cheese...I love love love cheese (and the fat free or reduced kind is gross...it will never cross these lips again...LOL). But, when I am buying frozen meals, as I often do, shouldn't I look at the nutritional info...just to be healthy? Is that a big no-no in the world of IE? I was just wondering because I have always done the 2-4-8 rule for frozen meals and just don't see why I should stop that. And really, the only things that I ever look at the label on is the frozen meals. Should I stop doing that? I mean, would that be considered to diet-like even though the only reason I do it is because of health reasons. > > Be blessed, > Dawn C >
Guest guest
Dawn, It's all about what you do with the information. You would never just buy a frozen dinner in a plain white package with the word " food " across it. You want to know what's in the package, read a short description, perhaps see a picture- how can you honor your body if you don't know what you're eating? I've been a vegetarian for a decade and so it is instinctive for me to flip over every packaged food to look at the ingredient list; not so that I can make sure that it's " healthy " , I just want to know what I'm buying. For some people, I think reading the nutritional information could be totally useful for IE in the same way. Like if you know that eating a lot of fat in the morning makes you feel sick, knowing the fat content of frozen breakfast sandwiches is really helpful (so that you don't get stuck with 90% of a box of something you won't eat). Guest guest
Just wanted to thank everyone for their imput on my question. I do like to know what I eat but sometimes think I am doing it for the wrong reasons. I just need to be sure to do things for the correct reasons and watch out for what I am telling myself when I don't even realize it. Thanks!
