Guest guest
My Mom was very short and heavy, never went to MD and died at 91. Go figure. Both my Mom and my step-mom are 80 yrs old. My Mom's family is probably like the peasant stock you speak of Katcha, where we are rounder and very stocky. My Step-Mom on the other hand is very lean. My Mom has diabetes and had lung cancer several years ago. My Step-Mom is probably one of the healthiest people in the world. She eats like a bird and is very active. But a while back I had a thought as they are both getting older, I am going to lose my Step-Mom before my Mom. My Mom, while she has had more health problems, she just seems heartier while my Step-Mom seems more frail even though she is extremely healthy at this point in time. I so much would rather and I'm glad that I come from the stocky genes. I think the stockiness makes us stronger. Just my thoughts. Guest guest
Sandy, one of my Gmas ate an egg, bacon and buttered toast every day, was always matronly and lived to near 90. My other Gma ate as 'unhealthy' a diet as could be imagined today, was always 'square' (high as wide - ha ha) and lived to 102. A sweet little old lady we knew ate like a bird, mainly fruit, had HIGH cholesterol, looked more like Granny in the Beverly Hillbillies and died just shy of 102. Go figure is right!!
