Can Amantadine or Nameda cause motor tics? Help!!!

Here's the list of Rx and supplements that DS gets. Today his therapist noticed

him have motor tics for the first time. I've never noticed it. Which of these

could be causing it? We added Namenda/Amantadine in the last 2 months and also

stopped Pycnogenol/CoQ10/Spironolactone. We also changed his Homeopathic remedy.

I was recently told that Amantadine can increase dopamine and I know motor tics can be linked to too much dopamine. It may be worth asking your doc or doing some digging to find out who Amantadine may be a factor. When our newest DAN! found out that our old DAN! put my PANDAS son on Amantadine he said, "ooooh, whoa, that the last thing a PANDAS kid should be on." It's true too, my son crashed hard within 72 hrs of being put on Amantadine back in 2007.From: Arpita
