Guest guest
, Do you add your childrens' probiotics and supplements to the juice? My children take so many supplements and meds, it would be great to hind them in something that tastes good. Also, my children have Eosinophilic GI Disorders, leaky guts, yeast problems, asthma, eczema, etc, etc. They also have dozens of allergies in addition to being salicylate sensitive. Does juicing cut down on allergic reactions? I have so many questions for you about juicing... - Jeanne
Guest guest
Jeanne, Yes, yes, and yes. Maddie was allergic to everything. -- to the point (she was turning 2 when it got really bad) that her rashes would bleed and stick to her PJ's (now she wears one of Jimmy's old t-shirts and a pamper. No more pretty nightwear for her! She has been rash free for about 3 weeks (might be longer, I have this bad sense of time right now). I had gotten them to 'manageable' -- but they are gone. I mean, her skin is back to normal, it's soft and pretty. If Maddie or Jimmy wouldn't drink the juice I had provided (with the supps) then I added it to the juicer drink. (they didn't notice!) Yes, we are Feingold and mostly low ox in this house, although, recently I have been adding more higher ox things as they seem to be okay with them. --and (thanks to my Toni - and her wonderful insight) have been able to 'manage' it -- so they get the nutrition and they get a way to detox out the stuff they don't need. (the nutrition is key here) I also just recently added golden delicious apples which are low ox and low saylicates. Keeping the toxic load to a min, while providing the key elements to their diets. Allergies (from what I have been reading over and over and over -- different sources, etc.) from what I understand -- is a severe lack of nutrition (this is simplified a great deal). The body becomes 'confused' for lack of a better word, and can't tell between friend or foe. So you get an inflammatory response and a 'calling out of the troops' because it simply lacks the necessary resources to identify and sort/regroup, etc. for proteins and other 'food' related material. Essentially, the immune system has a blind man guarding the gates. -- He tends to shoot at anything and everything... I have been reading about the " gerson therapy " which is cancer therapy using juicing along with other supplements, etc. The man, Max Gerson used this therapy to cure stage 4 cancers (and did so, consistently). Now, Cancer will kill ya, autism is just annoying because it degrades your quality of life. So, I took his work, and 'adjusted' it to our needs (in my household)...what I have gotten is far more than I expected. (Jack LaLanne was also a juicing freak, and he too, touted the same things.) The interesting part is - like I had done from the beginning - I focused on the liver. The liver is essential because it's the body's detoxer. It purifies the blood. Blood gives us life, so therefore, if the liver is acting dysfunctional, you get dysfunctional results. Max Gerson said the same. He uses coffee enema's to get glutathione working...and used calves liver (now dessicated liver in the form of a pill) to get B12...these are all things we do - we do the B12 shots/nasal/supps, and we also do glutathione in the forms of patches, creams, etc.. I thought that was interesting. The more you read 'nutrition' or diet books, the more you realize how much they state the same things. The body has all the necessary things to make you well -- so the point is to get rid of the dysfunction. Some see the dysfunction as yeast, or viruses, or bacteria, or, or, or...The dysfunction, as guys like Gerson saw it, was none of that, rather than lack of resources (or proper nutrition)or things impeding the natural flow of things. The natural resources (if in abundance) will remove the impediment, and the nutrition would supply the immune system with restorative tools and in turn, the restoration can proceed because it's got all the necessary tools. For your particular case, because of the GI disorder, and leaky gut, I would start with low ox juicing. ( and if it were me, I would not deviate from this for at least 30 days) we had done low ox juicing for a time, with some high ox stuff...because you have impaired uptake due to your GI disorder, juicing is probably your best bet in getting the vitamins/minerals/enzymes/amino's in the blood stream fast. Do you own a juicer? and what's your budget? Normally, I would say the Jack LaLanne would be fine, but as you get good at it, and as you start to see the results, you might want to do a juice press. They tend to have a higher enzyme count, higher vitamins, and higher all the way around. Because of the severity of your situation, I would probably do that anyway. Cabbage, kale, pineapple and lemon would be staples in your juices. You will want to start low and slow...
