Guest guest
Jan, I found this site, you have to select the state you are in for coverage. Florida seems to cover oxygen theraphy at 80%, patient pays 20% ope. http://www.medicare.gov/Coverage/Home.asp God Bless !! dragonflymcs Mayleen 02/07 ILD / MCS/ Fibro/ RADS/ TMJD/ IRD +14 < Click on me !! Oxygen Rules & Regs My oxygen driver told me that the legislation has been passed already in Washington regarding Medicare will no longer cover our tanks, etc., and that I am now responsible for the upkeep and repairs on all my tanks? I have 8 100lb. tanks in my home! I guess I own all these tanks and tops now seeing I've had most of them for five years now. The rental has far exceeded the purchase price many times over I am sure!I had read last week, I think, that they weren't even going to finalize this piece of craziness until January 09...am I behind the times?!! I've still been writing my Texan Senators and Legislators. ..Anyone else trying to fight this bill with Medicare??
Guest guest
Mayleen Currently medicare covers 80%. Does not vary by state. However, what they are referring to is speculated and proposed legislation. Now there is always speculation and are proposals and much information. I've even reacted to some changes with great fear to find out they were less than I thought. For instance I'm in one of seven of the trial sites where suppliers must bid on medicare. I was frightened we'd have on supplier. Yet, 35 were selected for this area. Now, I still dislike the change as basically it means the hundreds of other suppliers in the area are pretty much doomed. They can grandfather existing customers but ultimately without medicare patients an oxygen supplier cannot survive, in my opinion. > > Jan, I found this site, you have to select the state you are in for coverage. Guest guest
Mayleen, Thanks for the link to the Medicare website for the information about O2 coverage. Most of the people on MedicareB have supplemental coverage that pays what Medicare B does not cover. Mine even pays for the deductible! Z fibriotic NSIP/05 Z 64, fibriotic NSIP/o5/PA And “mild” PH/10/07 and Reynaud’s too!! No, NSIP was not self-inflicted…I never smoked! Guest guest
Bruce, Yes that is what I said. 80,% and patient pays 20% ope. I found that site that had me look by state. I do not recieve medicare, but I will, and any additional budens are always placed on patients. I agree that a patient that cannot get 02 is just wrong by all accounts. I only pray they pay because that would be the only thing I could ever use with adaptions. Dragonfly> >> > Jan, I found this site, you have to select the state you are in for> coverage.
