Guest guest
Elle, You are right in that the website was relating numbers to IVF, but I believe days past retrieval is about equivalent to dpo so you could probably use that chart. If I get the chance today I'll try to look for something regarding natural pg beat numbers, but I beleive they should be similar to the retrieval chart...in which case your numbers for 16dpo are also on the high end! But like I said to Pam, they won't conclusively say that high betas mean twins... -AmyR
Guest guest
Thanks Amy! I will feel blessed with one, two, three, whatever God wants to give me. My friend had an HCG of 812 at 4 weeks after IVF and she was pg with 4! So, she thinks my number might indicate twins...but who knows! I'm just praying for a normal and healthy pregnancy right now. I really appreciate all the helpful info! elle > Elle, > > You are right in that the website was relating numbers to IVF, but I > believe days past retrieval is about equivalent to dpo so you could > probably use that chart. Guest guest
No...she had to do selective reduction down to 2 because of the risks to her life and with 4, they would only have a 50% chance of survival. It was so traumatic for her. It really bothered me because I would have taken the other 2 in a heartbeat! She has twin girls and is due in late April or early May. She does deserve a lot of credit though...she has been through IVF 4 times (one mc and two times it didn't take) She is my rock! elle > > > Elle, > > > > > > You are right in that the website was relating numbers to IVF, but I > > > believe days past retrieval is about equivalent to dpo so you could > > > probably use that chart. Guest guest
I know what you mean! When she went through it, her Dr. basically told her she didn't have a choice. I just can't even imagine going through that! I know you never know what you'll do in a situation until you're in it yourself, but I just don't think I could do reduction. I pray I'm never faced with that choice. elle > > > > > Elle, > > > > > > > > > > You are right in that the website was relating numbers to IVF, > > but I > > > > > believe days past retrieval is about equivalent to dpo so you > > could > > > > > probably use that chart. Guest guest
Elle, OMG! Is your friend still pregnant? I can't imagine carrying 4!!! She deserves a lot of credit! maria Re: Elle - Beta Numbers > Thanks Amy! I will feel blessed with one, two, three, whatever God > wants to give me. Guest guest
Elle, Tell her I said she is amazing!!!! The whole selective reduction issue is so difficult. I've been having a hard time with it the past 3 weeks. We're planning on transferring only 2 embies because I don't want to go through reduction. maria Re: Elle - Beta Numbers > No...she had to do selective reduction down to 2 because of the risks > to her life and with 4, they would only have a 50% chance of survival. > It was so traumatic for her. Guest guest
Elle, Just the thought of it is upsetting! I have been going crazy with this. At first, both dh and my doctor wanted to transfer 4 embies, and I wanted 2; then I was leaning more towards 3 and they both wanted 2; now, I just don't know what I want!!!! Is she still upset about the reduction? Or is she focusing more on the remaining babies? May is such a wonderful time to give birth!!!! But I'll take any month. maria Re: Elle - Beta Numbers > I know what you mean! When she went through it, her Dr. basically > told her she didn't have a choice. Guest guest
, I think she's pretty focused on the twins. I'm sure the reduction will always make her wonder, but she's just looking forward. She is an incredible person! I am so happy for her...she's been through so much! You have a really difficult decision to make...God will lead you to the best choice. Have faith in Him... hugs, elle > > > > > > > Elle, > > > > > > > > > > > > > > You are right in that the website was relating numbers to > > IVF, > > > > but I > > > > > > > believe days past retrieval is about equivalent to dpo so > > you > > > > could > > > > > > > probably use that chart. Guest guest
Amy, Thanks! I really appreciate you checking things out! I, too, try to figure out what the numbers might mean, but right now I'm grateful I had a pretty high number...it's higher than I ever got with my mc or ep, so I guess it is giving me hope. thanks again! have a great weekend! elle > Elle, > > I did look today but I couldn't find anything as detailed like the > IVF sites.
