Guest guest
I was exploring the Overcoming Overeating website this morning and discovered a great little book by Pat Ballard: 10 Steps to Loving Your Body (No Matter What Size You Are). Here's a link to the book excerpt, which has a lot of great wisdom and quotes for the IE journey: http://www.pearlsong.com/newsroom/patballard/10StepsBookExcerpt.pdf I also discovered her Peace Treaty with Your Body: http://www.pearlsong.com/newsroom/patballard/peacetreaty.pdf After a little over 2 years on the IE path, I'm in the process of targeting in more specifically on my emotional eating patterns and dealing with distorted/media influenced perceptions/judgments about weight. I actually love myself and I look at my body lovingly. At the same time, I have found myself still having judgments around weight. I don't want to claim the identity of being a " fat " woman or a " thin " woman. I'm an intuitive eating and intuitive moving woman. What concerns me is that when I went down dramatically in cloth size in the past, I noticed how I lost a degree of my compassion and that I was more judgmental about weight. I also " lost " that weight without doing any emotional work and while I was disconnected from my body. It's almost like " judgment " was a misguided attempt to resist becoming larger again. I'm looking forward to seeing how my IE journey transforms that judgment. Latoya
