have you tried lee silsby?

MB12shots/PPO Aetna

Does anyone know a good compounding pharmacy in US that has MB12 shots and that would take PPO Aetna? So far I haven't been successful in finding a pharmacy that would do just that. One pharmacy told me they charge 16 dollars a needle and I told that I found a pharmacy that charge 4 dollars a needle, but I am really hoping to get it covered through insurance. Any ideas?

Thank you,

Dovile

We used Wellness Pharmacy. They charged just over $2.00/ syringe + $18.00 shipping (ouch!). You can order 2 months at a time to save on the shipping, but anything longer than that, the shots might start to burn. We have BCBS of Ma. and they take it.

America's Compounding Center

Hi, my family uses America's Compounding Center for everything... I don't know what we would

have done without them! They located in Massachusetts... #1-.

Jeanne, This is good to know. My dan's office is always open to any location that does a good job with the mb12 syringes. Do you know approx. what they charge per syringe? ($25/month + $18 for shipping)we're currently off the shots for now, but I was paying almost as much in shipping as I was for the syringes. What has your experience been? Have your syringes gelled up or burned?

Thanks! I was planning on calling this pharmacy, but totally forgot about it. But I did calll Lee Silsby and another one in MA (don't remember the name). So the pharmacy in MA doesn't even have the shots available. I also called our insurance, so it looks like we might need to pay out of pocket and then submit the claim. But for them to cover it, we have to have a code from a doctor and meet the deductible.

Dovile

P.S. I paid 10 dollars for shipping and 4 dollars per syringe.

Our DAN dr wrote a script for the B-12 to come in a vial. I bought syringes at

cvs. It ws MUCH cheaper that way. It's not difficult to draw up the shot in a

syringe yourself! The pharmacies That compound B-12 that I know of are Coastal,

Hopewell, Lee Silsby, & South River. Don't know about ins sorry.

Do you have a dan? or a pedi that would write the rx? If not, you might consider joining up w/ Dr. Woeller right on-line. It's $40/month, he answers emails and does phone conferences and will write rx's.

Thanks, Tammy. We are currently working with a DAN doctor, it's just pain to deal with all the insurance stuff.

Um, typically, if it's in the vial, it's not the right stuff. My friend was filling her own syringes for a year before she read the label. It was cyano B12 and filled with preservatives. She only found out because I came over to her house one day while she was giving the shot and she just pulled it right off the shelf in her pantry. One that is free of preservatives can not be left out on the shelf. After a year of never reading the vial, she found out that it wasn't what she was supposed to have. This is what happens when a well-meaning ped doesn't know what they are writing an Rx for. I was glad the ped was willing but he really should have known what he was Rxing and how to do it properly. He's our ped, too, so I know he meant well. But he simply didn't know better.I would double check to make sure you have the right stuff.

Tammy,

I get everything but MB12 shots (we don't use MB12 shots) there so I don't know the cost. The owner and head pharmacist, Arthur Margolis, is great. You should give him a call.

I get mine from Park Pharmacy and they send it in a vial and i draw it myself but it is MB12 with folinic and NAC and it has to be kept in the fridge. It is covered by my insurance and I pay a $15 co-pay for a month supply. They even cover my syringes.
