Do you know if he is short on any amino acids. DMG, TMG, 5 htp can help with calming. Look for Bernard Rimland Biomedical approaches on Google. It may help.Turmeric has been a major help for my son Stan, that and Bromelain. Anti inflammatories can be very helpful. Try ibuprofen and see if that calms him down. Then you will know that inflammation is your current target, and you will need to figure why the inflammation.Hi,My son is 9 and has mild Autism. Always get references from list members and locals and such. Ask around. There are a few that see the above doctor and love him. I believe he takes some insurance, too.

Hi,

My son is 9 and has mild Autism. I am so frustrated on how to help him anymore and was wondering if anyone knows of any physicians currently treating children with Autism in Iowa, Kansas or Missouri? Those states are close to us.

He was diagnosed at 18 months and is doing well, other than his intense stimming. He is mainstreamed in school. We have done a course of chelation,PCARx, are on several supplements, probiotics, have treated and tested him continually for yeast, and he is also on MB12 nasal spray.

He is also on Straterra to help with his concentration and stimming. His stimming has gotten much worse/intense to where he is making loud noises at school, talking in 'movie talk', repeating phrases or sounds he's heard and has become disruptive to his learning. We have tried various OT methods to redirect the stimming, but all you do is redirect all day. It is no better than where he was when he was diagnosed initially. His pediatrician wants to put him on Risperdal or Abilify for the stimming and I do not want to put him on these drugs.

His pediatrician is open to trying things, but is now at a point where he does not know how to help him further and wants to try the drugs, which I do not want to do. He is the only physician in NE, that I am aware of treating kids with Autism. He has been open to trying things, but I am wondering if I need to take my son elsewhere.

I appreciate any information anyone can pass along.

Thanks so much.
