Guest guest
Glad to hear it is arthritis rather than anything worse! But I really don't understand why he won't send you to a podiatrist who could prescribe an insert for your shoe in order to take the pressure off your heel. _____ From: blind-diabetics [mailto:blind-diabetics ] On Behalf Of Lora Leggett Sent: Thursday, September 15, 2011 4:28 PM To: blind-diabetics Subject: Re: My Foot I sure hope I can find a way to make it less painful. Guest guest
I'm thinking Advil (and other similar pain relievers) are not recommended for diabetics. Check with the doctor if you can. Guest guest
I will ask him because he is coming tomorrow. It still hurts like the devil. Guest guest
I do not wear shoes that often. I am always here at home and have either bare feet or more often now footies or slippers on. Guest guest
I forget if you're a type 1 or type 2. Type 2's don't need to check as often, IMO. I am a type 1 and check 8-9 times each day, but I do this because it gives me information I need to properly manage my diabetes. T1's experience swings t2's rarely if ever do. If you are a t2, and you believe you are eating a nutritional meal plan, and as you say, you are losing some weight (assuming you needed to lose weight), and your A1C is good (meaning in the 6.5 or lower range probably), you probably don't need to check as often. It's still a good idea to check a couple times a day, and you should try different times of the day. Your morning fasting bg is a good indicator of how you're doing in general, but 2 hours after a meal is also a revealing check. Dave " ...In this world you will have trouble. But take heart!
