Guest guest
I was just eating pepperoni pizza for dinner and I was really trying to savor it, because I'm a pizza fiend and I can plow through three slices, feel stuffed but still want more. Then I got a weird idea: I flipped the slice upside down! The cheese and pepperoni would touch my tongue first and stay there as I chewed. I'm never eating pizza right side up again! I know this won't work with some pizzas, because the toppings will slide right off, but experiment. I felt satisfied after one medium-size slice and a side of sliced peppers and cucumbers. I'm going to try this trick with other things that have flavorful toppings, like buttered toast. Kinda weird, but it works for me. I also had a stressful day at work (I work with kids, 'nuff said) and I made sure to listen to soothing music in my car on the way home, and I took time to slice veggies, pet my cat, kiss my husband, breathe, and say a prayer before I dove into the pizza. I feel much better and I stayed present through my whole meal! My small victories are getting closer together, I think I'm finally getting the hang of this.
