Guest guest
Welcome I haven't use antivirals, so I cannot give you any info on that. I just wrote to say that Flagyl makes sense to me. Since you are killing viruses with valtrex, and fungis with Diflucan, you need to adress bacteria too. If you don't, environment will be very suitable for them to flourish. Good luck I am new to the group, thank you so much for accepting my request to join. My son is 6 years old with autism. He has been on SCD for about a month now and we are just about to start with antiviral treatment. Our doctor has the protocol completely wrong after reading the recommendations from this group. She instructed us to dose with Valtrex 250mg twice a day for a week and then include Flagyl twice a day and then include Diflucan 100mg after a month on Valtrex. What is the recommended starting dose for Valtrex and Diflucan? My son weigh’s about 40 lbs. Also is Flagyl part of the protocol? I cannot find any recommendations for including Flagyl in the treatment in the information files. We have been undergoing treatment for about 2 years now with virtually no improvements. We are so hoping for a result with antiviral treatment. Thank you so much for your help. .
Guest guest
My daughter is 2.5 and 35 pounds last Thursday we saw our dan and we were givin Valtrex too. She said to give my daughter 250 mg twice a day, she also gave us OLE(10 drops twice a day) and Difulcan once a day at 40mg. I am going to start this in a week or so but I was wonder in what order do I start? and does everything have to be given at the same time everyday? Guest guest
Hi Tammy, Thank you for the response. I have started treatment with no side affects so far, we are on day 5. We are using 250mg Valtrex 3 x a day, Fluzol 50mg 2 x a day and Flagyl 200mg 2 x a day. Are these doses OK or should we increase any one of them? My son is 6.1 years and weighs about 40 lbs. Guest guest
Tammy thank you for the input. What are the thoughts from those experienced with the protocol. Should I increase the Valtrex to 500mg 3 x a day. My son is on the borderline weight (40lbs, 6 years) between 250mg and 500mg? Any idea’s will be greatly appreciated. Guest guest
I was hoping more people would chime in for her, too. I have no experience with Valtrex, so I keep my nose out of it. All I knows is what I've read (which is quite a bit. Still, I have no personal experience). Her doc's dosage seemed awfully low to me. Cheryl sent her the link to her blog. Guest guest
Thank you everyone. I did read Cheryl’s link to her blog and it appears the correct dose for my son would be 500mg 3 x a day. I am going to try the higher dose and will let you know how things are going. The doc’s dose was really low and she also claimed she had never had good results with antivirals, now I know why. Thanks again.
