I have been thinking recently about a former friend (BPD) and her son (KO).

Don't think her son has any idea what's going on, and I strongly suspect he's

been split black. Which all of you know is a special sort of hell.

Anyway the BPD recently tried to hoover me back in on facebook and I ignored

her. But I can't stop thinking about her son, who is probably around 18 now.

Perhaps it's worth looking him up and giving him a link to the indicators site

to see if he finds anything familiar there.

I just remember him having the same sad listless " why bother " look that I had in

high school. Just hope that the earlier he knows, maybe the more he can prevent

the toxicity and the earlier he can start healing.

Is it right to try this? Is it wrong not to?

What are your thoughts?

yes, this is a very important thot and question and i agonize over it too.. i

suppose education is what is needed at the level society seems to be at now.. i

think especially education about mental illness in general, that it is as simple

and similar as any physical illness or injury, like a broken arm or high blood

pressure, only it involves the brain.. a mysterious thing to a lot of people,

but never the less just as much a part of our physical bodies as any other part,

again like an arm, or our blood vessels that sometimes get 'broken' and need

attention by a physician and help to heal, a cast or medication.

it is sad to me that we are so far back in this process, so mired in stigmas

about mental illness that people are so afraid to get help.. when we can as a

society begin to get over this, as is happening i think, slowly to be sure (too

slowly for my taste as these children, ko's are suffering under the control of

mentally ill people as bpd's are in my opinion).

just some thots i have on the subject, hope they help even just a little.ann

I wish we could make this board required reading for every mandatory reporter.

There is no denying our experience.

What can we do??

Seriously -- please, if you have ideas -- please share them.

maybe we could make a documentary..Like those afte school specials. We can

each tell our stories. Showing how BPD is ignored and how abusive and

harmful it is to children and families. Send it to the courts..the

schools.

There are enough of us I think that it may work as a regular TV

program..people love to see other peoples problems and dysfunctions . Take

a look at what our children are watching now...Pregnant teen moms

struggling....Drug addiction intervention....Reality shows. Why not shows

that depicts our lives growing up and how badly we were treated and how it

has made us today...How we struggle to me normal.

That gives me an idea - what about something like a reality series? I'm not

sure how it would work, or even if its a good idea, but we could play on

that concept. Reality is SO big these days.
