Guest guest
I would wait to start the LDN until yeast is under control. Talk to your DAN about adding in diflucan for the yeast. Also get a good stron probiotic (we like Custom Probiotics). Subject: Yeast, Antibiotics(Pandas) and LDNTo: mb12 valtrex Date: Tuesday, February 15, 2011, 9:06 AM Good Morning,My son has yeast issues. We have done 2 oats test in the last 7 months and he has come back with high arabinose yeast on both test. He has been on nystatin, diflucan, sporanox and now on nizoral. The nizoral was started a month ago. My son got pneumonia in December and he got better from pneumonia and also noticed improved symptoms for his autism. Tested for strep (pandas) and test came back negative, after antibiotic wore off my son regressed. Put him back on azithromax and again we saw gains and he then regressed after antibiotic wore off. Because of this our DAN doctor put him on azithromax once a week, which we just started. My wife and I are concerned because we still feel he has yeast issues and know we added antibiotic which can obviously cause yeast to worsen. We put him on antibiotic this past Thursday for a 5 day course and then once a week. We were scheduled to test his yeast this week (oats test) but our DAN now wants to wait for 6 weeks. Again we are concerned because we don't know if yeast is under control and feel in fact it is not. We are also scheduled to add LDN within a couple of weeks. Can our kids have adverse reaction to LDN if yeast is not taken care off.If any one has any ideas or experiences and would share it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Taly
Guest guest
for us we couldn't get yeast under control TILL we LDN, it brought the immune system in balance so yeast could STAY gone. probiotics did nothing for us since they didn't stick with having biofilm issues From: Fund Sent: Tuesday, February 15, 2011 10:19 AM To: mb12 valtrex Subject: Re: Yeast, Antibiotics(Pandas) and LDN I would wait to start the LDN until yeast is under control. Guest guest
We did test for strep antibody but it came back negative. Our DAN did say that even with negative test he could still be a PANDAS kid and that if we again see a gain with antibiotics then this would confirm the fact that he is a pandas kid. Thanks for your reply Christel, so but I'm at work and can only post when I get a break. Guest guest
Hi , Our son was on Diflucan for approx 8 weeks, after 6 weeks we tested for yeast and he still had high levels of arabinose yeast in his urine. Our DAN has mentioned doing biofilm if the nizoral that he is currently on does not take care of yeast. This is why we are concerned about doing the antibiotic, and increased yeast. My son is currently on Therbiotic complete 25bil twice a day and also on Kirkman Lactobisilius Duo 25bil twice a day. We asked him about custom probiotics (we just heard of them) but he does not stoke custom probiotic and said I would just have to go to their website and choose one (he was not much help). Would you mind letting me know which custom probiotic you use? Thanks and sorry to not post right away I am doing it while on work. Guest guest
Hi Taly, I hope you hear back from someone better versed than I am, but (just in case) you might consider googling Pandas and taking a longer look. I believe that a strep test will always come back negative unless, by chance, it is taken within a certain time - frame of the strep exposure. So that might be something you want to look further into. I've heard lots and lots of stories from people who thought they were chasing the yeast beast when in all actuality it turned out to be pandas or clostridia. If you're seeing a definite improvement on antibiotics, it makes good sense to check it out. Hope this helps. -Tammy To: mb12 valtrex Sent: Tue, February 15, 2011 9:06:51 AMSubject: Yeast, Antibiotics(Pandas) and LDN Good Morning,My son has yeast issues. Guest guest
There is a stool test that can check to see what would work to treat your childs yeast. Not sure what the name is but it shows what that yeast is resistant too. We use the Custom Probiotic that has 6 strains in it. Many ASD kids use the one that is lactate free. Not sure if your child has a lactate issue. They are expensive but very high CFU's, work well and last a long time. Guest guest
LDN can increase yeast. Natural antifungals helped us, kirkman yeast aid, olive leaf extract, grapefruit seed extract, and probiotics coconut kefir, custom probiotics. We use the brain child anticandida herbs, one dropper three times a day, and you rotate them (I think there are 4). I also have cut his juice in 1/2 with water and limited intake. We have seen improvement with no sugar except stevia and/or xylitol and low carb diet. I have been told I needed to reduce his sugar and tried but failed several times. It is working now and it has been a big gain for us. We are on LDN, Diflucan, valtrex among other things. Any more specific ?'s feel free to email me. Guest guest
valtrex and OLE both increase yeast as well, for us LDN was what finally KICKED the yeast beast and stopped the years of cycling of trying to whoop it! one day of diflucan (which he had been on weeks rounds of it before but when going off it would come right back) and then LDN and we were FINALLY able to go off diflucan and it NOT COME BACK!!!! we were so thrilled. LDN was a life saver here in restoring immune health with long term results even when LDN was discontinued. there are so many naturals that can be done to fight yeast (I would also look at the nystatine having been problematic in starting a flare- it's strep based and we just went through that here) we also watch diet, cook with coconut and oregano a lot, garlic like crazy, LOVE kirkmans yeast aid, carprilic acid, biotin ect From: jujugirl1971 Sent: Tuesday, February 15, 2011 12:45 PM To: mb12 valtrex Subject: Re: Yeast, Antibiotics(Pandas) and LDN LDN can increase yeast.
