Guest guest
I have IBS too and it's interesting that the " good " foods upset me the most, especially salads, fruits, many vegetables. WE each have to find our own way and that can make this seem difficult. In the past I was so used to having a " diet plan " that spelled everything out for me, what to eat, when to eat, how many calories, etc, etc. Now its more a matter of listening to my own body and believing in its inner wisdom. I'm not that good at it yet, but like I said this is a process. Keep posting. Sandy I'm new to this group and wondering if there is a " good place " to start learning about how to stop the cycle of emotional eating. It's not just a behavior problem, but because I have IBS I really need to drop 45 lbs and start eating foods that doesn't have an adverse effect on my body. I have been under quite a bit of stress the last several years... and I really need and desire to move forward to resolve my financial and family situation. Eating appears to be of comfort for me, but I still need to stop " the cycle " of eating when I'm not hungry and snacking on foods that aren't completely healthy for me. Is there a file or article that can jumpstart my program...? Judy Ann
Guest guest
Hello JudyIE has many places to start as each of us has different needs. You can only start at the place that you feel drawn to & that is not always the most obvious or healthy place either. IE is a journey, one where weight loss is secondary. You mentioned that you 'need' to stop the cycle, Mindfulness towards food may be a point for you to start as may looking at what you 'want' rather than feel you need? Not sure which book your using, I suggest Intuitive Eating by Tribole & Elyse Resch, although there are many wonderful books out there. Once you have read it, read it again to start digesting it. Pam
