Guest guest
there is oatmeal, that is not an issue. But as for fruit, I am very picky and not due to taste issues but because many fruits upset my stomach and make be bloated. Grapes, melon and watermelon, pears are 100 % off my list. That's what you find the most at the cafeteria. You rarely find peaches, nectarines, tuscan melon or any kind of berries. I think the main issue is the repetitive menu. They made creamy au gratin potatoes on Friday and we had the same until Monday. So far I haven't binged but I have overeaten due to the fact that I taste different foods to see if I find what I like. One day I ended up only eating the bolognese sauce as the pasta looked horrible but the sauce seemed to have enough meat to provide some protein to my body. The main issues are lunch and dinner. yesterday at breakfast, there was no fruit that I could eat so after my cereal, I ended up having an English muffin and peanut butter and I KNOW it was only because I wasn't satisfied , not physically but at another level. My body craved the sweetness of fruit and since I coudn't have it, I reatced by adding the sweetness of jely and peanut butter crazy > > Uuugghhh! Guest guest
This does sound very, very hard. If the food can't change make sure that you are practicing self-care in every other area you can. Write in your journal, think about the millions of things you have accomplished and are strong at, walk and look at the natural world real-close-up, keep writing to this post, and practice kindness toward others. Just ideas....p there is oatmeal, that is not an issue. But as for fruit, I am very picky and not due to taste issues but because many fruits upset my stomach and make be bloated. Guest guest
With regard to fruit, is there someplace you could buy canned peaches in fruit juice? It's not as nice as a fresh peach, but if you're craving the sweet taste of fruit, it might be a decent substitute. Plus, it probably wouldn't be that hard to find them in the little single serving cups and then you wouldn't have to refrigerate them or wonder what to do with leftovers if you didn't want to eat an entire can. As for the rest, I agree with ette. I think you're going to have to try to find satisfaction in other ways. There are always going to be times when we can't get the foods we really want. But you can still stop when your body tells you it's full. Then you have to just feel the frustration of not being able to have what you want and find the satisfaction that you're not getting from foods somewhere else. And if you do find yourself overeating from time to time, then go easy on yourself. It's not the end of the world. Josie > > > > > > Uuugghhh! What an awful situation.
