I too started out wanting to use IE as an 'alternative' to dieting, lose weight etc. What I found instead is that I have lost my diet mentality, desire to need to 'be' anything for anyone else, and a bunch of food 'rules' that frankly hadn't served me well before. I am not a poster child for 'health & fitness' by no means, but I do feel healthy and happy with my body and life. I hope you can also 'lose' what you need by being here too.
