Guest guest
Welcome aboard, ! It sounds like you've made a great start. I've found my craving for sweets has gone way down, as has my craving for potato chips. I keep a big shopping bag full of snacks in single-serving packages, and at first I was eating them a lot. Now suddenly I'm wondering if I should bring them into work for everyone here to enjoy because I'm eating so little of them that I'm afraid they'll go past their expiration dates. It's amazing what "legalizing" food can do. I never thought I'd be able to have potato chips in the house, but there they are, and I could care less. I, too, really love the feeling of taking care of myself, of feeling good about my eating and of enjoying exercising after years of making myself do too much and hating it. I look forward to hearing more from you. All best, Laurie wrote: >>>Hi all... I'm fairly new to the board (within a couple weeks). I enjoy reading everyone's posts and find them helpful to be reminded of staying on track with IE. I've been practicing for a couple weeks and it has been, for the most part, fairly easy. I think because I'm thrilled to not have to count calories and to be able to eat some of the foods I rarely allow myself while counting calories. I also find that I enjoy the food more when I wait until I'm hungry, so it's been an enjoyable process and it feels good taking care of myself. I noticed something tonight... I ate my dinner and didn't crave sweets like I usually do when calorie counting. I just ate and was done... my mind wasn't trying to figure out what kind of sweet thing I could sneak in or cheat... probably because there's no such thing as cheating anymore. I like that. Just wanted to share. Have a great night!<<<
