Guest guest
Hi, My name is . I feel I ate more intuitively from age 30 to 40. I didn't own a scale. I wasn't as thin as I would have liked but wasn't obsessed about food. I was happy and I listened to myself and my body. I am now 52 and caught in the obseesion of a diet mentality. I have recently read Intuitive Eating and Overcoming Overaeting. I am glad to be starting towards trusting myself again and stop dieting toward the fantasy of thinness or trying to control myself. I do find that the desire to eat is also stronger related to menopause, hormones making me more emotional and fatigue due to not sleeping well from the hot flashes which I have tried everything for except hormone replacement therapy which I won't do. Anyone struggling with that who has some advice, should I eat if i am tired, a nap doesn't take away fatigue...eating doesn't either but I do feel hungry, confused about how to respond to hunger cues when it is fatigue????
