Guest guest
I just got back from Boston. Dr. Trentham felt I was doing well on my methotrexate, and said that maybe I could lessen the amount in the future. I was discouraged because I was hoping he would suggest my taking another medication as well to stop my nose deterioration. I think my case is very unusual- I really never have huge flares. I will just burn for a few hours in different areas. My nose has never really been very red- it just crackles and has a pinching ache to it. But it is definately shrinking in the middle. BIG QUESTION: Should my nose be continuing to deteriorate if my medication is the appropriate one for me?? I know there are side-effects to medications, but if Dr. Trentham is a expert on RP, would it do me any good to sek out another doctor in the country?? THanks!!! Mike E. Guest guest
Mike E, Did Dr. Trentham address the deterioration problem of your nose at all? If so, what did he say? I don't think he should even be considering lessening the amount of metho if you're still having this going on and I agree with you 100% that something should either be added or something new should be tried and another med eliminated. Obviously, you are disillusioned after your visit and with good reason I might add. I'd definitely seek out another Rheumy. This doesn't seem right to me at all!!!
