Guest guest
Tricia - I am currently using the cea-Ltd. disks, (but no MetroCream or any other medication). I use both the yellow and the brown -- the yellow actually seems to work better for my skin! Ingredients are: Brown - sodium chloride, zinc oxide, manganese oxide, ferrous carbonate, iron oxides, copper oxide, calcium periodate, cobalt carbonate Yellow - sodium chloride, sulfur Hope this helps! Guest guest
I agree with . There is no reason to get impatient or upset with someone who is not posting a message pertinent to your life or condition. Why anyone would feel the need to get angry about that is beyond my understanding..just move past it and go on to something that you relate to. No one is here to minimalize anyone else's trials and tribulations. This is not about " my disease is bigger than yours. " Accusations about what children with terminal illnesses go through is not relevant to what we do here. To assume that because someone is dedicated to turning around a troublesome condition is therefore unsympathetic to the burdens of others is illogical and condescending. Guest guest
Please, many are far worse than you. I nearly commited the s word due to the constant itching hives i get on the rosacea. believe me, there have been many times id take paralysis or cancer with an unknown chance of survival if i could just get rid of the constant, festering, itching and burning. Also, many on the board may be depressed-maybe they are just finding out about this. The absolute worst thing you can say to a depressed person is " oh, it could be worse - at least you dont have something really bad " . Believe me, your rosacea is not the same as everyone elses. Maybe you are lucky and only have a moderate case. Maybe in a month you will get much worse. This is a serious problem for me. Its not a joke. Everyone has a right to their opinion, including you and me. What you said is really hurtful in my opinion. Just my opinion. I hope you understand. Guest guest
Hi Lem... Did you check your " trash " file at yahoo? That happened to me and they told me to discard all the trash file. After that I was fine. By the way, the impairment post had nothing on it. Take care, Vicki

Guest guest
Hi Jenna! This Seitan Pot Roast is from scratch and wonderful. :)1 onion, chopped 1-3/4 c. vital wheat gluten 1/4 c. nutritional yeast 1 t. onion powder 1 t. thyme 1-1/2 c. water 3 T. Braggs aminos 1 T. ketchup 3 large carrots, sliced 5 medium potatoes, cut into chunks 1 c. vegetable broth 3 garlic cloves, crushed Salt and pepper Spread the onion along the bottom of the crockpot. In a bowl, mix the wheat gluten, nutritional yeast, onion powder, thyme and 1/2 t. salt and 1/2 t. pepper. In a separate bowl, mix the water, Braggs and ketchup. Pour liquids into the dry ingredients and mix well. Knead this for about 2 minutes. Mold into a nice shape, and place the raw seitan in the crockpot, on top of the chopped onions. Arrange the carrots and potatoes in the crockpot around the seitan. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and the the vegetable broth. Place lid on crockpot, turn to low and let cook 8 hours. Slice the seitan roast and serve with the vegetables. Enjoy - What is the seitan pot roast recipe???? I have seitan but running out of ideas for it. Do you eat celebration roast??? mmm....Katcha- Hmm I will have to explore if it comes from a place that I cannot have anymore…I think perhaps I am a bit of a hedonist and enjoy pleasurable things. Studies have shown that people who have a less serotonin naturally made than others seeks pleasure more than those who have the chemical ready made… its something to consider?Sunny, you are right after the fist few bites. I think I am going to spend this week being more mindful and watching myself as I eat. I tend to be so busy that I go on automatic pilot. Liz- welcome!hugs,Jenna
Guest guest
Hi Jenna,i still get really confused by this too, and i've been practicing IE for quite a while!however, there is a chapter in the IE book about practicing Gentle Nutrition, and it sounds like this is what you are doing. there's no reason that with IE we can't make choices that work better for our body... i THINK the philosophy is that we get away from the diet mentality is all. not doing these things for weight loss, or because someone else told us to? but sometimes it can be very hard to know what is what. i've been trying to make some changes in what i eat too, based on some new nutrition literature that i have read. like you, it's not for weight loss. but for overall health and feeling good. what i've decided is to go with it... making gentle changes. so my mantra is " it's better to add things than to take them away. " so i add more dairy and more fruits and vegs, and don't focus on eliminating processed foods... but realize after time goes by that i have less desire for processed food. but there's no rule that says i can't have that processed foods. this feels very intuitive to me.i'm very interested to hear what others have to say!abbyIE since 11/08 Â So, I have a question for everyone. About a month ago I realized that I was doing a LOT of stress eating (finishing up masters and working full time) and I had a lot of work plus some crazy roomates I had to kick out my home... but anyway..... I started eating low carb-vegetarian. At first I really really craved white flour and sugar. I made some changes in how I eat increasing protein veggies, fruits, etc. And once the cravings left, I actually feel much much better. I feel my energy as more even and I feel more vibrant as well as stuff becoming looser, though weight wasnt the goal I just felt like my choices were being led by emotional/ stress related issues rather than that what my body needs. Im not hungry, I just shifted from donuts, cookies, carbs to nuts, more fruit veggies, more tofu, etc. But, I also feel guilty about it... like I am not following IE practices because it is a concious approach. But at the same time, I dont know... I feel better. So I guess I wanted to share that with everyone and see what you thought. I mean, if I had the thought, all the sudden, hey less carbs more protein more veggies, is that not also intuitive? How do we know if our thoughts are coming from within or being influenced by without? Because I am denying myself (though not all the time) certain things and I denied my cravings but now feel better for it. What do you think? Im awfully confused! jenna
Guest guest
I think IE is supposed to be about honoring our bodies and not a pass to be irresponsible about eating everything that ever sounded good to us. I totally agree that denial of any food item turns out badly eventually, but if something makes your body feel badly, why would you need to indulge in it just because your mind wants it? I would think it's honoring your body more to not eat the things that hurt it and that being a mindful decision, is practicing IE. The problem as I see it would be to know the fine line of when to allow yourself to eat some of the stuff you've really been mentally wanting in order to prevent that binging effect that happens from restrictive eating. Guest guest
All I can say is Ditto. Been thinking on this answer all morning, and here is my answer, right down to saying the same things I'm thinking about sugar. lol.Dawn RTo: IntuitiveEating_Support Sent: Fri, April 22, 2011 2:48:59 PMSubject: Re: (unknown) I have been thinking about nutrition myself and am thinking about limiting sugar. I don't think of it as restricting at all. If I decide to have some sugar that is okay but I know that I don't feel as good when I eat a bunch of sugar so I am going to limit it. There is nothing wrong with that. There are also other things that I avoid eatting and I feel better for it. I don't think that is going against IE because we are doing it for the right reasons and we are still listening to our bodies. It is not a diet. We are listening to what our bodies are telling us and they are telling us that these types of food make us feel bad. That is what IE is all about , right? Maybe. I have a different thought about Jenna's choices, as I navigate my way...I think as long as it's "I'm choosing this now because of how I feel," then it's no different than, "I'm choosing cake because how I'm feeling" or "I'm not choosing cake because of how I'm feeling.". I am allergic to artificial coloring. So I mostly don't eat it but every once in a while I want a handful of jelly beans, knowing that they will make me break out. And I can, but mostly I don't like to have painful lips and pimples all over my face. As long as it's a choice. Patti
