Well, the first thing is to monitor your blood sugars more often. Anytime you

will be eating less and less active, not to mention coping with abnormal bodily

functions brought on by infections or viruses, knowing exactly where your blood

sugars are is vital.

If you have a stomach virus and eating is a problem, you'll probably need to cut

back on insulin. However, illness can raise blood sugar. This is why monitoring

your bg is so important.

Try Googling key words like, diabetes, illness, and " blood sugar. "

Sick day plan for Type 1s

Hi, does anyone know of a site where I can find info on a sick day plan for

Type 1 diabetics.

I recently had the flu, and I couldn't eat anything for 2 days. Don't want to

rick ending up in the hospital again.

Try : ada.org or : diabeticnews.com. They have links to type 1 diabetics

and under that for what to do when you are ill.
