Guest guest
Diane, Not too much info at all. I do not have pancreatic divisum, they ruled that out after my 2nd or 3rd attack years ago. I do however, have a stricture in my duct. I'm trying to get a picture of the anatomy so I can visualize what's going on. I wasn't aware of that second duct until acouple of weeks ago. Guest guest
Hi Rob, The smaller duct you referred to is the minor pancreatic duct, also called the minor papilla. It develops along with the major duct but is supposed to join with it in utero. With pancreas divisum, the 2 ducts stay separate and the pancrea attempts to empty thru the minor rather than major papilla. Too much info??? Sorry 8) ===== Diane Hollister Tennessee State Chapter Rep Pancreatitis Assoc. Int'l dhollis062@...
