I think the book is great & I am starting to do the practical part now. Yes, I started to do this on Christmas Eve. GEEEEEESH. But I thought, in the past I would always promise to start a " diet " on Monday & use the entire weekend to eat all the foods that wouldn't be ALLOWED after the start date SO this time I thought, today is as good time as any to START. So I started buy keeping a log of my hunger levels & the emotions that I was feeling. Let me just say that OVERWHELMED kept coming up several times & it is not even noon yet. Has anyone on here done the practical part of the Shrink yourself book (either online or on your own). Please let me know how you went about it. I could use some help from someone who has done it. You can email me directly if you like. Also, if anyone is interested in doing it as a buddy system I would love THAT. ok, just thought I would put it out there & see what happens. I'm both excited & apprehensive at the same time about starting this. Some of it was very good, but I found some of it very awkward because the questionnaires force you into choices that may not exactly apply to you - or rather, didn't to me. What I did do, though, was have a few sessions with Gould, the author of the Shrink Yourself book, and found him to be wonderfully helpful in person.
