You'll know what to do when it's time . She knows that. Bless you both.

Thank you, what a difficult day I have had, cannot decide if I should have her put to sleep. She is still here, sleeping peacefully with her sister.

,So sorry to hear about your dog! Having faced the heartbreaking dilemma several times myself, I can certainly empathize with what you're feeling right now! A very hard place in which to be! One of the biggest considerations for me was always the quality of my dog's life! Was she enjoying herself anymore? Sometimes though, like with my 17 year-old dog Maggie, they let you know when it is time to let go because you can see it in their eyes!Warmest hugs,Jeanne

- I will share some advice. I've got a friend who's a vet tech. One of the vets she worked for had this advice on when to let go of your pets. He says there are 3 F's to consider. Food, Family and Fun. When they are no longer enjoy at least 2 of those you should think about letting go. We had to let our old dog go in 2008, at the time we finally did (he declined rapidly,) he wasn't eating, wasn't able to walk, and barely responded to my husband (his favorite person.) Hope this gives you some food for thought and perhaps comfort in make your decision.DawnTo: intuitiveeating_support Sent: Tue, January 11, 2011 6:17:14 PMSubject: Re: Re: prayer request

Thank you Jen. I don't believe in putting animals down either, I would like to have her pass naturally at home, but she can no longer walk and I don't know what to do.

- When we had to put my cat to sleep a few years ago (he was 16 and told me he was ready to go), someone sent me the poem, The Rainbow Bridge. I still come to tears whenever I read it.http://www.newrainbowbridge.com/NRB/rbpoem.htmI hope it touches you the way it touches me.

Dawn thank you for this she still enjoys her food and her family, so maybe she's not ready to go.

Dear ,I am so sorry for the pain you're going through. I know exactly how it feels--it is gut-wrenching. These animals come into our lives, bringing so much love and acceptance, becoming part of us, remaining puppies forever, even (and especially) in their golden years. I can still cry--easily--over the little dog that was ours for almost 17 years.Just do what you can--and know that Lacy knows that you adore her.Kindest thoughts to you.>> Please pray for my dog Lacy I fear she is losing the battle of aging Thank you >

My thoughts are with you, . I can't imagine the pain of losing my dog (he's my first dog and my love for him terrifies me). Both my dog and I send you and Lacy our warmest thoughts.Nicky
