Anyways, back to bed for me. Happy Birthday to those I missed, Happy

Anniversary to those and may you all have had a pain free weekend.

your all in my thoughts and prayers.

Much love,

Deanna

Deanna is it okay if we put you on our prayer list at church? I could just put it as unspoken so that I'm not disclosing your family business. It's just a way for a lot more people to be praying for you both. If not I understand and we will just pray for you ourselves okay?

Teri,

Glad it's gone so well! Was praying for you! Behave yourself so it will stay where it's supposed to! I called and she was talking to Personal Care so called me back. Said she had to send more information. I asked her if she'd sent something earlier and she said yes, but they wanted more than they had sent. So then I write an e-mail to Personal Care asking if it will show "pending" in my personal account that I can get to. The nitwit didn't even answer the question but said that there was no authorization for surgery for 8/20/04--duh, no!--I'm not having surgery that date! She proceeded to say that if information is faxed in, it may take up to 2 weeks to get the information into the computer! I about flipped. Called my hubby at work and he did a conference call seeing as how the insurance co. isn't going to give him information w/o my approval. The lady got the date straight

and had them pull the faxed report out to give to the Medical Director right away. It still might be Tues. or Wed. before I find out, but is going to hold the date for me. Nothing like waiting down to the wire! Glad we called or else that stuff would still be lying there in the fax machine and for sure it wouldn't have happened! I still wonder when called it in, and if PC needed more, why didn't they call or fax and let her know to get it sent in? Not sure who to be most upset with. Thanks for the birthday wish!

When I set a date afterward to be checked I'm going to see if you happen to have to come in around that time, so maybe we can end up there at the same time. Who knows, we may have both been there at one time and didn't know each other then!

Hello Donna

Well I did get a call from my PCP,and he had a Rx for percocets, which is fine for the pain, but what about some thing so my back will relaxe, so I got the nurse and told her this, she went and asked the doc, she came back with some samples of Flexeril. Now I think I am set for awhile. got the PT and the head doc next week. Hope you are having a less pain day. take care OK.

Glad the dr got back to with something Kenny. It would be a very long

weekend indeed to be in so much pain! I've found I cant take any of

those things being on Neurontin. They all make me so ill, so its

tylenol xtra strength and tylenol pm for the meantime.

Get some rest Kenny!

Hello Dawn

I had a pain doc, but all he wanted to do was nerve blocker shots, and I had a bad reaction to the one I had, so I will just go to my nero doc.

Re: update

Kenny,

Just out of curiousity, I was wondering why you do not see a pain management doctor for your RSD! My primary care doctor knows nothing of RSD and I only go to her when I need referals or general checkups. All my meds for RSD are prescribed by pain management, and neurologist manages my MS and blood pressure! I would definitely look into this with Workers Comp or Insurance Company. Take Care and I hope that all works out for the best. LOL and Best Wishes!

Hello Peoples Well here is an update, and it is very confussing. First I went to see my PCP, for my back, and knee problems, he told me that I had to see my nero doc, because he does not want to have two doc giving out pain meds, OK, So I called the nero doc, he said he only works on my feet( even though my back, and knee problems, I believe are directly related to my RSD )so I have his nurse call my PCP and let him know that he can treat me. So now I am waiting for my PCP doc to call me . I am not going to go in ,and see him, because I have already payed my co-pay. So here I am waiting again, still in pain waiting for some one to make up their minds, waiting for some one to return my calls. I really hate play this game of doc tag. I think they don't want to work on me because of my RSD. well thats enough from me today, it is just about time for me to start making phone calls, AGAIN..... With Luv,and Prays Kenny

Janie, please try and rest. It will take some time for everything to

heal from all the stress your body went thru.

In the meantime, relax and know that you are getting stronger each

day!

this is very very normal!!!! when you body is used to being in the 200 plus

ranger when you get the normal healthy ranger your body feels low. I have

such tight control on my sugars that I dont feel low until I reach around 30s

and that is i will only START to feel it

He feels really weird even though being at 90 or so is suppose to be normal. He

may have even felt that way when his sugars were above 100 but I'm not sure.

Anyway, it could just be that the feeling of your sugar levels dropping faster

than normal might have made you felt like you did. I would imagine that with

time and more use of the insulin, your body will get use to the feeling of the

blood sugar levels going down.

But definitely talk to the Dr about it.

I lay down for a nap about 4 and at 5:30 woke up to very hypo feelings

took my sugar and it was going down fast I was feeling so bad close to

pasing out and grabbed a candy cane off my Christmas tree sat down and

ate half within 5 minutes was feeling better. I then began cooking

dinner ate and now once again feel ok. My gosh this medicine has

wreaked havok on me all day. I have never experienced a hypo to that

extent. It was similar to what I felt when I first injected. But how

can that be when I first injected my sugar was 230 but gave me a hypo

feeling 10 minutes lator. Very strange. And this is only using 5 units

mind you. What would have happened to me had I used the full 20. I plan

to report this all to my Dr. in the morning. I will keep a candy cane

by my bed tonight and eat a light snack before bed if needed.

160 and dropping fast. I am used to my sugars running 200 to 300 and

even higher so when it gets lower than 180 I begin to feel it.

You will definately not pass out at 160. I have had mine at 21 and

not passed out. When I went to a diabetes consultant, they told me

that you don't pass out until it gets below 20. Mine for the last 3

weeks has been running around 400. I have symptoms just like

hypoglycemia when it is high, you were more than likely experiencing

hyperglycemia. When my blood sugar is normal, around 120, 5 units of

insulin will only bring it down a few points, it won't bring on

hypogylcemia. You probably had an allergic reaction to the insulin, I

would definately call my doc in the morning about it. With the type of

insulin you take, it takes a while to start working, usually at least

an hour or 2. It wouldn't have been able to lower your blood sugar

from 230 to anything low enough to bring on hypogylcemia in only 10

minutes. Even the fastest type of insulin takes at least 15 minutes

start working.

I still feel hypoglcemic when I get down around 110. My levels are

usually quite a bit higher. I imagine K probably was not feeling the

effects of hyperglycemia, because her bg was going down, not up. I

get the same thing. No, it's not actually hypo, but it feels like it

because we're used to having much higher bg's. So when it goes lower

than normal, or drops too fast, it feels like hypo.

And as far as the insulin, 5 units may only bring you down a few

points, but everyone is different. One unit brings me down 60 points.

If I was at 160, or even 230, and took 5 units, I'd be dead.

Everyone is different. Also, depending on where you inject the

insulin, it gets absorbed at different rates. And if you accidentally

get it in the bloodstream, it's pretty much instantaneous.
