Oh I remember those songs.

Mine was "lie".

MamaSher, age 69. IPF 3-06, OR. NasturtiumsDon't fret about tomorrow, God is already there!

My song was so "smokey", no wonder I can't see....

My birthday year song was "smoke gets in your eyes", funny, as I played that song over and over when I was a teenager on the piano, one of my favorites, also "harbor lights". Probably only Jack and I would remember those. haI LOVE YOU THIS DAY !!MARY LOU RICHMOND VAIPF '02AND HOLDING.....................

Oh, my memory stretches so far back I've forgotten how many years it is. Chattanooga Choo Choo and a song that went "Would you like to swing on a star, carry moon beams home in a jar...". Begin the Bequine, Tommy Dorsey . . . I remember an older lady, probably 20, who taught my17 year old self to jitterbug. "I'll never Smile Again" and WW II "Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree" which went on to say "with anybody else but me...". That was for the soldiers, sailors and marines who were overseas.

Enough. I can't stand boring old men.

Jack... I've got a big grin on my face, remembering all you mention. Think I'll point my index finger up in the air and do the jive around my kitchen. lol

Well, thank you, . What a sweet thought. I admit that I am still trying to figure out how to be old. There's no manual, and when I look around at my contemporaries, I don't look or act like them. I still look like myself, I still work full time and find time to write, attend plays and concerts, go to the fair, dancing, give parties, help little old ladies, just the same old things. I still work out daily, take long walks, but had to give up mountain climbing. Most of all, I like to have fun and laugh and be surrounded by happy people, although I will always try to help the unhappy see the brighter side. I have a big family of which many sometimes think I'm nuts . . . until they need a loan. I'm kidding, my grandkids now far-flung across the

country call me frequently and/or write, as do my children and my siblings..

I make you a promise, . When I get old and figure it all out, you will be the first I let know.

Jack, The "old" part just happens but we

don't have to act the part do we!

We can just get years older but we don't have to GROW UP!

That really would be boring.

I just have to watch my 88 year old mom as an example. She's healthier

than I am.

She's never home!!!!She's at concerts or playing cards or just walking

around a local shopping

mall or going out with her friends. I think sh'es busier than ever.

She's a 10 year breast cancer survivor too.

Fun thread, but I had this picture of a bunch of seniors, slowly slidding around a dance floor with tanks on their backs, looking like a bunce of frogmen(women) who forgot their bathing suits and masks...

And I say never too old. I used to play all those tunes on my trumpet...don't think I have enough air for now...and am 67, wildly attractive to a lovely 74 year-old. Have fun everyone!

... your mom sounds like a real trouper. Good for her. It's obvious she is enjoying her life. And a cancer survivor too. She could do rings around me and she is 18 years older!

I hope the same for you by golly.
