Guest guest
Hello - Just wanted to share a tip that I've found helpful in the last few days. I've found that my mind tends to wander when I'm eating, leading to a lesser feeling of satisfaction when I'm done eating and sometimes also overeating, since I wasn't really tasting the food. I'm sure I picked up this tip from somewhere but I can't remember where, but basically I've found it helps me to really look at my food while I'm eating. If I'm eating a cookie, I'll hold the uneaten portion right close to my face, and think about the smoothness of the chocolate chips, the crunch of the walnuts, etc. while I am looking at them. It seems to make it taste so much better, even better than if I were just thinking about the food while it was in my mouth. When eating something with a fork or spoon, I ignore the tip about putting the fork/spoon down between bites, and instead hold the next bite up close where I can see it and think about it while I am chewing. Any other mindful eating tips out there? Liz
