Guest guest
I find IE to be most useful personally. Yes, they can be used together, I can't think of a real contradiction. WFG is more about emotions, and IE is more laying out the basics. I found IE more useful because WFG is too focused on emotions. While I do emotional eating, right now I need the game plan, not the whys. I find the whys are coming along, but still prefer IE.Dawn RFrom: jenbrube To: IntuitiveEating_Support Sent: Tue, July 20, 2010 10:26:09 AMSubject: Intuitive Eating vs Women Food God? Hi, I wondered which book all of you find to be more helpful for you? Can you use them in conjunction or do they contradict each other? I have only read WFG but am interested in Intuitive Eating. Thanks! Jen
Guest guest
I would agree that IE and WFG can absolutely be used together. I haven't read a lot of other books, though, so can't necessarily speak to those. For me, I find that I needed both. I started with IE and found that to be really helpful. But I think I really needed WFG because I never thought that emotional eating was a problem for me, until I read that. Now, I realize it's a much bigger issue than I realized. And that being the case, I'm not sure that the steps in IE, on their own, would have been completely effective because I would not have had insight into the reasons why I was eating in the first place and would not have been addressing those issues directly. But like Dawn said, if you want more of a defined plan, or steps to follow, you will find IE useful. Josie > > I find IE to be most useful personally. Guest guest
Thanks, Dawn! I'll look into the Intuitive Eating book. And I understand what you mean about needing the game plan vs something less tangible. It's tough for me to balance. > > I find IE to be most useful personally.
