Guest guest
Good Morning, So I am pretty new to IE, but since trying it an eating issue I've had for years has gotten a little worse. I wake up several times in the middle of the night and eat. Sometimes it's a snack, and other times it could be a full meal. It's really frustrating and has picked up a bit since I've tried IE. I have a hard time sleeping, so it has been suggested to me that I'm using eating as a coping skill to deal with anxiety that is keeping me up and a tool to be able to go back to sleep. I also think (literally came to me as I typed this) that maybe I'm still thinking of this behavior as " bad " and trying to restrict it, therefore it keeps getting worse. Has anyone else dealt with this? I would love for this behavior to stop, not only to sleep better, but I feel a bit out of control when it's happening. Thanks for reading. Guest guest
Caroline, I don't have this challenge myself, but one thing popped into my head - could it be that you are really thirsty more than hungry? It was a real light bulb moment for me to read that some of us feel 'hungry' when we are really thirsty. There's a bit of logic behind that in that there is some water in many foods. I know I was surprised to find that I felt hungry less when I better hydrated myself. Just a thought. Hope you find what works for you. Guest guest
Thank you guys for your great suggestions and support. Regarding stress, I have finals until next week so hopefully it will ease up a bit after that. I will definitely look into some relaxation techniques to try at bedtime. I have such a hard time sleeping and my bedtime routine is a mess because of my schedule so I think that is an area I could really benefit from improving and trying to find some type of stability. I had never even thought about being thirsty as an option! I love crystal light lemonade so maybe I'll just make sure to keep a big glass of that by my bed for if I wake up. Thanks again. This has been so frustrating for me lately and it's really nice to be able to share about it here.
