Guest guest
Hi, . I'm glad you bring this up. I also notice that I'm less able to make good judgments of hunger/fullness. But the whole point of IE for me was to have a joyful relationship with food and that will include a glass of quality wine in a good restaurant when the occasion arises. But I guess I do sometimes find myself a little scared of it. April I hope it’s ok to bring up the topic of alcohol here. I enjoy wine with dinner sometimes and notice that my intuitive eating skills get a bit hampered by drinking. Does anyone else have this issue? Have you decided to not have alcohol while you eat or just not worry about it and enjoy? Thanks,
Guest guest
Hi there! If I drink " too much " then I definitely have trouble with IE. For me its sort of makes me rebellious and I read once that the way it lowers one's inhibitions has an impact on eating too. And I turn to food for all emotions, so if I drink too much it sort increases emotions and lowers inhibitions, so whether I'm happy or sad it turns on my 'let's eat!' triggers. But I love a good glass of wine with some meals or a quality martini, and I think that all things should be enjoyed with IE. And for me, as long as I have a drink or two it has no impact--a lot like not eating too much food in that way I suppose.
