Guest guest
Yesterday I was sitting around our dentist office as hubby had work done. There was the usual stack of magazines and it being February, all the January issues were diet diet diet oriented. One promised to be different - the little old Reader's Digest which had a happy face made from fried eggs and bacon strip on the cover. The one liner under it promised what sounded like IE type text so I went to the page of the article and began reading. At first it teased of IE type thinking - talking about how diets don't work and how silly food-exercise=weight is as the TOTAL equation for size most people find themselves in. When the article brought up the WHY? do we eat as strong factor involved I thought - could it be IE?!? Wellllll about then it fell apart - digressing into fat vs. carbs etc. platter that we all have heard a zillion times before. Seeing it was only waiting room magazines I did what I never had done before - got out my pen and began to make comments on the pages! On the article title page I wrote Check out Intuitive Eating! adding 'the last step in dieting is REGAIN' by a part that merited it. I forgot what other comments I added, but I'm sure the next person who looks at that article will think twice about taking it seriously. Even if they just think who ever wrote on it was a 'kook', at least they won't take the article serious. There's been enough damage done by the diet industry to not fight back - lol. I also felt good about being able to look at the many 'Lost 100#s!' people in People mag and think - I wish them well, but can't help but know that many will 'bounce back' - soooo sad. And NOT GET HOOKED into thinking - hmmm maybe I should . . . NO WAY. IE is not only freeing, it can be down right FUN at times too. Katcha IEing since March 2007
