Guest guest
Hello, Dave, I actually would like the VoiceMate. I could well need to use it. The Accu-Chek is still the gold standard in Albania where I spend time, so test strips are available locally, which is not true for the modern talking meters. If it is still available, I will send you an address where you could send it so I could pick it up when I come back to the States next. If it has gone to a good museum, I hope the three diabetic blind mice make good use of it. Dotty -- Email services provided by the System Access Mobile Network. Guest guest
I don't know if we're talking about the same thing, Dave, but I thought that the Voice Mate was made in France, and was a note-taker, appointment book, clock, calculator and calender. Is the unit you are talking about the same thing, or something different? -- Any museum curators out there? My wife is cleaning out our laundry room where " stuff " tends to collect. One item I am thinking will most likely end up in the trash is my old Voice Mate. Everything's there--the clunky unit, the case, etc. Before it ends up unceremoniously in the great beyond, I thought I'd put up an announcement just in case someone wanted it. I'm pretty sure unless you're opening up a museum for antiquated diabetic equipment, I won't have to worry much about too many folks contacting me. But...just in case...if you want it...now's your chance! Dave
Guest guest
Different devices. The Accuchek VoiceMate we're talking about is a product widely used by blind/visually impaired diabetics a decade back and then some. It used an Accucheck meter which used the Comfort Curve strips, and it had a place where you could insert an insulin vile and it would read the type of insulin.
