Guest guest
I had suggested this some time ago. There is an injection that some type1 take that is similar in effect to the actions of metformin. It helps control liver release of glucose, which is broken in all diabetics, when it shouldn't. It also helps with insulin resistance which comes from insulin levels too high for too long. Let's look at the steps she mentions and make a prediction and what other lifestyle changes should help. 1. long time use of insulin with no regard to carb intake. This means very large amounts of insulin chasing large amounts of carbs. Result, insulin resistance. 2. most forms of insulin in several types no longer can over come the insulin resistance for the amounts of carbs eaten. Glucos soars and a1c out of control. 3. lower carbs and use of metformin which have positive results. Fewer carbs mean less insulin to cover it and metformin helps with the liver glucose release and the insulin resistance. Good glucose control and lowest a1c. 4. stop the metformin and increase carbs, prediction; she will soon be back where she began. 5. No mention of weight loss which after all those years packing in insulin and carbs has to be a problem. It contributes to insulin resistance in a big way. 6. no mention of exercise which helps with insulin resistance and lowers glucose levels. 7. good diabetes treatment and control come from lifestyle changes for a lifetime. Diabetes is a lifelong disorder that only the diabetic is best situated to treat. She illustrates that well. XB IC|XC
